New York bankruptcy court to acquire New Rochelle, N.Y.-based Sound
Shore Health System for $58.6 million.
St. Vincent Hospital in Leadville, Colo., signed an affiliation and services
agreement with Englewood, Colo.-based Centura Health.
The Muscogee (Creek) Nation, one of the largest Native American tribes
in Oklahoma, acquired Okmulgee (Okla.) Memorial Hospital.
The Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Board in Erwin, Tenn., has
voted unanimously to accept an additional $1 million line of credit from
Johnson City, Tenn.-based Mountain States Health Alliance.
The Downey (Calif.) city council approved Whittier, Calif.-based PIH
Health's $9.85 million purchase of land occupied by Downey Regional Medical Center.
Portage Health in Hancock, Mich., signed a definitive agreement to form
a joint venture with Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals.
Rainy Lake Medical Center in International Falls, Minn., and Essentia
Health in Duluth, Minn., cut off negotiations that would have made Rainy
Lake a full subsidiary of Essentia.
St. Mary's Good Samaritan, based in Centralia, Ill., and Clay County
Hospital in Flora, Ill., signed a nonbinding merger agreement.
University of California, San Francisco, Medical Center and Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland (Calif.) signed an affiliation
agreement.
The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and Grenada
(Miss.) Lake Medical Center agreed to a 20-year lease.
The University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center officially closed on
its acquisition of Lakeside Health System's property in Brockport, N.Y.
Winter Haven (Fla.) Hospital and Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare
Health System completed due diligence, and the merger between the two
organizations went into effect Aug. 30.
