74 Hospital & Health System Transactions Grinnell (Iowa) Regional Medical Cen- ter signed a letter of intent to partner with UnityPoint Health – Des Moines (Iowa) and University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City. Longview, Texas-based Good Shep- herd Health System will merge with Irving, Texas-based Christus Health, ef- fective early next year. Kansas City-based University of Kan- sas Hospital and Topeka, Kan.-based Stormont Vail Health's Cotton O'Neil Cancer Center agreed to embark on a joint venture to expand radiation oncol- ogy services in the Topeka area. Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health and Clinton County agreed to a five-year contract that named IU Health the new operator of Frankfort (Ind.) Hospital, effective June 1, 2017. Little Rock-based Arkansas Children's Hospital and Conway (Ark.) Regional Health System embarked on an affil- iation agreement to create a pediatric nursery alliance. Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Burlington, Mass.- based Lahey Health are eyeing a pos- sible merger. This is the fourth time the institutions have attempted to combine operations in the past five years. After embarking on a successful part- nership with Providence Tarzana (Ca- lif.) Medical Center in 2015, Children's Hospital Los Angeles expanded its partnership with Renton, Wash.-based Providence Health & Services. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems signed a definitive agreement to sell Spokane, Wash.-based Rockwood Health System to Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare for $425 million. Mechanicsville, Va.-based Sheltering Arms Hospital and Richmond-based Virginia Commonwealth University Health System will partner on a 114- bed inpatient rehabilitation facility. Hospital & Health System Executive Moves Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth named Joel Yu- has president and CEO of Memorial Hospital Central and Memorial Hospital North, both based in Colorado Springs, Colo. StoneSprings Hospital Center in Dulles, Va., part of Hospital Corporation of America's cap- ital division based in Richmond, Va., selected Lance Jones to serve as CEO. Wendy Apland, vice president of finance/CFO for PeaceHealth's Oregon network, is leaving to pursue other opportunities. Naperville, Ill.-based Edward-Elmhurst Health CEO Pam Davis is retiring, effective June 2017. McLaren Greater Lansing (Mich.) selected Ca- sey Kandow, MBA, to serve as COO. Donald McDaniel was named CFO of Paris (Texas) Regional Medical Center. Wyoming Medical Center in Casper an- nounced President and CEO Vickie Diamond plans to retire, ending her eight-year tenure as the medical center's leader. Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales, N.M., tapped Bo Beames to serve as interim CEO. West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, an affiliate of Tallahassee-based Hospital Corporation of America North Florida, named Carlton Ulmer president and CEO. St. Joseph, Mo.-based Northwest Health Ser- vices appointed Deanna Lamb CEO. e Woodlands, Texas-based Emerus Hold- ings, an operator of micro-hospitals, named Craig Goguen CEO. Houston-based Hospital Corporation of Amer- ica Gulf Coast Division named Megan Mariet- ta CEO of West Houston Medical Center, effec- tive Dec. 19. Ray Dziesinski was appointed vice president and CFO of Baltimore-based Sheppard Pratt Health System. Rockford, Ill.-based SwedishAmerican Presi- dent and CEO Bill Gorski, MD, is retiring, ef- fective July 1, 2017. Chesapeake (Va.) Regional Healthcare appoint- ed Reese Jackson, JD, president and CEO, ef- fective Dec. 1.. Redwood City, Calif.-based Verity Health named Jordan R. Herget president and CEO of O'Connor Hospital in San Jose, Calif., and St. Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy, Calif. Minneapolis-based Allina Health CFO Duncan Gallagher plans to resign at the end of 2016. Barstow (Calif.) Community Hospital hired Matt Blevins as its new CEO. Royal Oak, Mich.-based Beaumont Health ap- pointed John Kerndl as executive vice presi- dent and CFO, effective Dec. 12. Heath King was named CFO of Orange Park (Fla.) Medical Center. Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health selected Rich- ard D'Aquila to serve as president. Harrisonburg, Va.-based Sentara RMH Medi- cal Center named Douglas J. Moyer president, effective Jan. 3, 2017. Florence, S.C.-based Carolinas Hospital System tapped Gary Malaer to serve as its new CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2017. Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklaho- ma City tapped Jordan Cash to serve as presi- dent, effective Jan. 3, 2017. Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa, appoint- ed Laurie Conner interim president. Minden (La.) Medical Center named Greg Pearson CEO, effective Dec. 5.
