State Hospital. After a federal judge ruled against the merger of Harrisburg, Pa.-based Pinna- cleHealth System and Penn State Mil- ton S. Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center, Penn State Health's CEO said the med- ical center is open to pursuing new col- laborations and partnerships. Colusa (Calif.) Regional Medical Cen- ter closed in April, but hospital officials have signed a deal to reopen the facility. Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital officials are finalizing an ac- quisition agreement with Dover, N.H.- based Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. Manchester-based Catholic Medical Center, Wolfeboro-based Huggins Hospital and Peterborough-based Mo- nadnock Community Hospital — all in New Hampshire — will move forward with a proposed affiliation agreement. The Southwest Virginia Health Authority approved the proposed merger between Kingsport, Tenn.-based Wellmont Health System and Johnson City, Tenn.-based Mountain States Health Alliance. Marathon, Fla.-based Fishermen's Community Hospital and Miami-based Baptist Health South Florida agreed to affiliate in 2017. South Haven (Mich.) Community Health System will become a part of Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Bronson Healthcare Group as early as Jan. 1. After much speculation regarding Edi- son, N.J.-based JFK Medical Center's decision to partner with another facility, hospital officials signed a letter of in- tent with Hackensack (N.J.) Meridian Health to discuss a potential affiliation. New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System and McComb, Miss.-based Southwest Health System declared their intent to form a strategic partner- ship to provide specialized, innovative care to residents in the region. Jackson, Wyo.-based St. John's Med- ical Center trustees agreed to partner with Salt Lake City-based research facili- ty Huntsman Cancer Institute. Indianapolis-based Indiana Universi- ty Health entered into a preliminary agreement with Clinton County to be- gin managing operations of Frankfort (Ind.) Hospital, effective June 1, 2017. CHI Franciscan Health and Virginia Mason Health System signed a letter of intent to strike a clinical partnership and further align their roughly 1,600 physicians combined throughout the Puget Sound region. Pottstown (Pa.) Memorial Medical Cen- ter and Wilmington, Del.-based Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children will partner to provide advanced pediatric care for families in the Pottstown area. Sturgeon Bay, Wis.-based Door County Medical Center will affiliate with Spring- field, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System to deliver high quality health- care to residents in northeast Wisconsin. Greeneville, Tenn.-based Laughlin Me- morial Hospital and Johnson City, Tenn.- based Mountain States Health Alliance signed a letter of intent to merge. n
