Mount Desert Island Hospital has earned the Outstanding Patient Experience Award from Health- grades for the last three years. Additionally, the Na- tional Rural Health Association named Mount Desert Island Hospital as one of the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals for overall quality in 2014. Myrtue Medical Center (Harlan, Iowa). Not only does this rural hospital — located in western Iowa, not far from Omaha, Neb. — offer acute care, it is in- tegrated with medical clinics in Harlan and five other nearby towns. It also offers behavioral health services, a wellness center and an aquatic complex.
