Ardabell was promoted to CEO of Bon Secours Richmond (Va.) Health System. Lawrence Barnard, CEO of University Medical Center in Las Vegas, resigned to become president of San Francisco-based Dignity Health's San Mar- tin Hospital, also in Las Vegas. Anniston, Ala.-based Regional Medical Center announced the appointment of four executives: Louis Bass, previously CFO of RMC, was pro- moted to CEO of RMC; Joe Weaver was named CEO of RMC Hospital in Jacksonville and COO of the RMC system; Mark North, was promoted to vice president of finance and CFO of RMC; James (Tripp) Johnson joined RMC as assistant vice president and project management officer. Cape Girardeau, Mo.-based SoutheastHEALTH system named Kenneth W. Bateman president and CEO. Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health named Clifford J. Belden, MD, MS, chief clinical officer and executive vice president of in- tegrated delivery system. West Orange, N.J.-based Barnabas Health chose John Bonamo, MD, president and CEO of Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J., as its next CMO. Lucinda Bradley, was named interim CEO of Taos (N.M.) Health Systems. Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Okla., named James Brasel, CFO. Naples, Fla.-based Physicians Regional Healthcare System CEO Scott Campbell resigned. Elbert Memorial Hospital in Elberton, Ga., ap- pointed Brandon Clary as CEO. Mr. Clary re- signed as CEO of Edgefield (S.C.) Hospital earlier in December. Richard Cordova, president and CEO of Chil- dren's Hospital Los Angeles, announced his plans to retire. UConn Health named Anne Diamond as CEO of John Dempsey Hospital. Prior to her appoint- ment, Ms. Diamond served as interim CEO since August 2013. Mark E. Doyle was named administrator and CEO of Memorial Hospital Pembroke in Pem- broke Pines, Fla., part of Hollywood, Fla.-based Memorial Healthcare System. Nabil El Sanadi, MD, became president and CEO of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health. Weldon Gage, CFO of Children's Hospital of Wis- consin in Milwaukee, resigned to take a position as CFO of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Charlottesville-based University of Virginia Health System appointed Chris Ghaemmaghami, MD, as permanent CMO of the University of Vir- ginia Medical Center. Chad M. Grant was appointed president and CEO of McLaren Oakland in Pontiac, Mich., a subsid- iary of Flint, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care. James Griffee, MD, was named CMO of Slidell (La.) Memorial Hospital. His appointment began Jan. 1. Flint, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care named Bill Hardimon, president and CEO of McLaren Medical Group. Chris Jenkins was named president and CEO of Florida Hospital Physician Group in Tampa, Fla. After serving as interim CEO of Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno, Calif., for about a year, Lowell Johnson stepped down and Zareh Sarrafian entered the role. Barry Keel, CEO of Bay Medical Center Sacred Heart Health System in Panama City, Fla., stepped down from his role in January. Edward J. Kelly, president of Milford (Mass.) Re- gional Medical Center, was additionally named CEO. Doctors Hospital of Laredo (Texas), part of King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services, ap- pointed Michael La Coste as COO. St. Louis, Mo.-based SSM Health named Philip Loftus, PhD, senior vice president and CIO. Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System President and CEO Steve Mason, announced plans to retire in mid-2016. Tommy Inzina, Bay- Care's COO, was named Mr. Mason's successor. Great Plains Health in North Platte, Neb., ap- pointed Mel McNea, as CEO. Kim Milstien resigned from her role as president and CEO of Simi Valley (Calif.) Hospital, part of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System. Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights, Ill., named Terrence Moisan, MD, as CEO. Dr. Moisan served as interim CEO since February following the abrupt resignation of CEO Edgardo Tenreiro. Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Fla., named Bob Moore CEO. Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, Ohio, appointed Greg Nielson, CEO. Tacoma, Wash.-based CHI Franciscan Health appointed Ketul J. Patel, as CEO of the system and senior vice president of divisional opera- tions for the Pacific Northwest Region of Engle- wood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives. The Ohio State University named Sheldon Retchin, MD, executive vice president of health sciences and CEO of Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, effective March 2. Dr. Retchin will suc- ceed Steven Gabbe, MD, who is retiring. Thomas Savides, MD, was named the first chief experience officer at UC San Diego Health System. Jim Shmerling, PhD, MS, CEO of Children's Hos- pital Colorado Health System and Children's Hos- pital Colorado in Aurora, stepped down from his role as hospital CEO, but will remain at the helm of the health system. Mark Shugarman, president and CEO of Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Ind., resigned to take a new position at Shriner's Hospital for Children in Cincinnati. Brad Solberg, CEO of Hammond-Henry Hospi- tal in Geneseo, Ill., resigned to accept the position of president of OSF St. James Medical Center in Pontiac, Ill. Hospital & Health System Executive Moves and moving it to a really exemplary level. Two years ago the Illinois Hospital Association started giving out awards for quality and we won two awards. I think it's just a great statement about what a healthcare system with all of our challenges can do when you focus on the right things. There are two other accomplishments that are important to Sinai and to me. First is Sinai Tomorrow, a significant campus redevelopment project that will enhance how care is delivered to the 1.5 million people in our service area. The City Coun- cil of Chicago recently voted unanimously to grant our system $31 million in tax incremental financing, representing one-third of our project costs. The second would be behavioral health services at Holy Cross Hospital on the South Side of Chicago. The hospital had no behavioral health services but frequently had patients in crisis waiting nearly two days until a hospital could accept a behavioral health transfer. In August 2014 we received state approval to build a 24-bed psychiatry unit at Holy Cross Hospital and have already opened an outpatient behavioral health clinic that is well-attended. I'm so proud that we are providing much needed services to a community where before there had been none immediately available. n
