Tenn.-based Duke LifePoint Healthcare.
Mercy Memorial Hospital System in Monroe,
Mich., a 238-bed nonprofit community hospi-
tal, signed a letter of intent to join Toledo, Ohio-
based ProMedica.
National Jewish Health, Exempla Saint Joseph
Hospital, and the hospital's parent company, SCL
Health System — all based in Denver — signed a
joint operating agreement.
Nyack (N.J.) Hospital and Bronx, N.Y.-based
Montefiore Health System struck an agreement
under which the hospital will become a member
of the Montefiore system.
Oconee Regional Health Systems and Oconee
Regional Medical Center, both located in Mid-
geville, Ga., agreed to partner with Central Geor-
gia Health System and The Medical Center of
Central Georgia in Macon.
Orlando (Fla.) Health, a nonprofit hospital net-
work, announced it will end explorations for a
partner for a merger or acquisition and will re-
main independent.
Exclusive affiliation negotiations fell through
between Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth
and two small community hospitals in northwest
Washington state — Skagit Valley Hospital in
Mount Vernon and Cascade Valley Hospital and
Clinics in Arlington.
Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center
and PinnacleHealth System in Harrisburg, Pa.,
signed a letter of intent to form a new health sys-
tem in central Pennsylvania.
Chicago-based Presence Health signed a letter of
intent to sell Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical
Center to Community First Healthcare of Illinois.
Rochester (N.Y.) General Hospital System and
Unity Health System, also based in Rochester,
filed the necessary documents to finalize a merger
between the two systems.
Rochester Regional Health System — formed
by the merger of Rochester General and Unity
Health — finalized definitive agreements under
which Clifton Springs (N.Y.) Hospital & Clinic
and United Memorial Medical Center in Batvia,
N.Y., will join the health system.
San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital, a nonprofit
hospital in Banning, Calif., entered into exclusive
talks with Loma Linda (Calif.) University Health
Care concerning an affiliation.
New Jersey Superior Court Judge Margaret Mary
McVeigh approved the sale of St. Mary's Hospi-
tal in Passaic, N.J., to Ontario, Calif.-based Prime
Healthcare Services.
The University of Arizona Health Network and
University of Arizona, both based in Tucson, ex-
ecuted a principles of agreement document with
Phoenix-based Banner Health to create a state-
wide healthcare organization in Arizona.
