Hospital officially became a part of Oakland, Calif.-based Alameda Health System. Centura Health in Englewood, Colo., and Middle Park Medical Center in Kremmling, Colo., signed a management agreement. The Rhode Island Department of Health and Attorney General Peter Kilmar- tin approved the joint venture between Providence, R.I.-based CharterCare Health Partners and Santa Ana, Calif.-based Prospect Medical Holdings. CHE Trinity Health, based in Livonia, Mich., and St. Louis-based Ascension Health collaborated with physician leaders in Michigan to create a statewide clinically integrated network of healthcare providers. CHE Trinity Health signed a non-binding letter of intent to sell Mercy Hos- pital Cadillac (Mich.) and Mercy Hospital Grayling (Mich.) to Traverse City, Mich.-based Munson Healthcare. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems called off a planned ac- quisition of Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. CHS signed a letter of intent to buy Natchez (Miss.) Regional Medical Cen- ter. Eastern Connecticut Health Network, a two-hospital system based in Man- chester, previously considered mergers with three other nonprofit health sys- tems before officials selected for-profit Tenet Healthcare Corp. Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center and LHP Hospital Group in Plano, Texas, sold the land and buildings of Mountainside Hospital in Mont- clair, N.J., in a sale-leaseback transaction. J.C.
