Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood, Ariz., named Barbara S. Dember president and CEO. Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, N.M., named Elizabeth Allred CFO, Dan Otero COO and Jed Rudd assistant vice-president of operations. Larry Anderson, CEO of Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, Calif., was put on paid administrative leave. The Woodlands, Texas-based Victory Healthcare announced the appointments of CEOs for three of its facilities. Louis Garcia has been named CEO of Victory Medical Center Southcross in San Antonio. Alex Garcia has been named CEO of Victory Medical Center Landmark in San Antonio. Nicholas Crafts has been named CEO of Victory Medical Center Houston. Bear Valley Community Healthcare District in Big Bear Lake, Calif., announced the appointment of Marcus Armstrong as CFO. Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, announced its President and CEO Bobbie Gerhart will retire in 2014. Boston-based Tufts Medical Center CEO Eric Beyer announced his resignation. County supervisors overseeing Bakersfield, Calif.-based Kern Medical Center terminated the contract of the hospital's CEO Paul Hensler. Mike Bunch, executive vice president, COO and CFO of KershawHealth in Camden, S.C., declined an offer to serve as CEO of the health system. North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Ga., named Lyra Howalt CFO. Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health announced the retirement of President and CEO Robert G. Carmen, effective April 1, 2014. Gerard Jablonowski,  president and CEO of St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, N.J., has resigned. Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare Health System announced its president and CEO Diane Cecchettini, RN, plans to retire in 2014. Daytona Beach, Fla.-based Halifax Health announced the appointment of Ann Martorano as COO. Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas in Rogers named Brenda Chase COO. St. Louis-based Ascension Health named Patricia Maryland president of healthcare operations and COO. Kelly Curry, executive vice president and CFO of Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates, resigned. Corona (Calif.) Regional Medical Center CEO Kevan Metcalfe resigned. North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo President Tim Moore is leaving his post after being named to lead the hospital on July 19. Jeff Murphy, president and CEO of Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Ill., has retired. Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Fla., announced the appointment of Rich Mutarelli as interim president and CEO. Owensboro (Ky.) Health named Philip A. Patterson president and CEO. St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, N.Y., announced the appointment of Meredith Price as CFO. MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, Ill., named Brian Sinotte CEO, effective Sept. 23. Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services announced the appointment of Rulon F. Stacey, PhD, as president and CEO, effective Nov. 4. Hillsboro, Ore.-based Tuality Healthcare announced its President and CEO Dick Stenson will retire. Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates named Charles Stewart CEO of its Arkansas Market. Richmond-based HCA Virginia Health System named William Wagnon III CEO of three of its hospitals — Henrico Doctors' Hospital, Parham Doctors' Hospital and Retreat Doctors' Hospital, all located in Richmond. Hospital & Health System Transactions Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives and the Texas Heart Institute in Houston have signed a letter of intent to work toward a partnership. Catholic Health Partners in Cincinnati, Columbus-based Mount Carmel Health System, Akron-based Summa Health System and University Hospitals in Cleveland joined forces to create Health Innovations Ohio, an independent organization that aims to create a fully integrated and aligned care model. Canton-Potsdam Hospital in Potsdam, N.Y., announced plans to create a new two-hospital system — St. Lawrence Health System — that will continue the dissolving Gouverneur, N.Y.-based E.J. Noble Hospital's operations through a new entity, Gouverneur Hospital. Providence, R.I.-based Care New England Health System finalized its partnership with Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket. Chester County Hospital and Health System in West Chester, Pa., officially became part of the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia. Clifton Springs (N.Y.) Hospital & Clinic entered into a partnership agreement with Rochester (N.Y.) General Health System. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems and Sharon (Pa.) Regional Health System signed a nonbinding letter of intent, which would add Sharon Regional to CHS' hospital network. The board of directors at Corcoran (Calif.) District Hospital unanimously voted to sell the hospital's rural health clinic to Roseville, Calif.based Adventist Health, though the hospital itself no longer provides inpatient or emergency department services. Knoxville, Tenn.-based Covenant Health and the Claiborne County Commission signed a letter of intent for Covenant to run Claiborne County Hospital in Tazewell, Tenn., along with its ambulance service and 100-bed nursing home. Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pa., and Holy Spirit Health System in Camp Hill, Pa., signed a letter of intent to affiliate. Highlands-Cashiers Hospital in Highlands, N.C., finalized a nonbinding memorandum of understanding to become a member of Asheville, N.C.based Mission Health, the state's sixth-largest health system.
