Braden Health, which operates a network of hospitals across the U.S., is acquiring Decatur County General Hospital in Parsons, Tenn. Two New York City hospitals, Maimonides Medical Center and New York Community Hospital, combined to form a new local health network in the Brooklyn borough. Rome, Ga.-based Floyd Health System has joined Charlotte, N.C., based Atrium Health. Garrett Regional Medical Center, a 55-bed hos- pital in Oakland, Md., will explore becoming a full member of the West Virginia University Health System in Morgantown. Philadelphia-based Temple University Hos- pital finalized the purchase of the former Cancer Treatment Center of America's Phila- delphia campus. Roanoke, Va.-based American Healthcare Sys- tem finalized its purchase of Randolph Health, a bankrupt, single-hospital system based in Asheboro, N.C. Miami-based Cano Health has acquired Doc- tor's Medical Center, a primary care network based in Miami with 18 centers throughout south Florida, for $300 million in cash. Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Health and Evans- ville, Ind.-based Deaconess Health System finalized an agreement to jointly operate Bap- tist Health Madisonville (Ky.), its medical group and associated outpatient facilities. e hospital will be renamed Baptist Health Dea- coness Madisonville, effective Sept. 1. Perry Memorial Hospital, a 25-bed critical access hospital in Princeton, Ill., has officially joined OSF HealthCare in Peoria, Ill. Harrington HealthCare System, a Southbridge, Mass.-based system comprising a 119-bed hos- pital, satellite location and three medical office buildings, joined Worcester, Mass.-based UMa- ss Memorial Health. Charlottesville, Va.-based UVA Health ac- quired full ownership of Novant Health UVA Health System, a three-hospital system based in Northern Virginia. e hospitals involved are Novant Health UVA Health System Culpep- er (Va.) Medical Center, Novant Health UVA Health System Haymarket (Va.) Medical Center and Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center in Manassas, Va. Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa, and Fort Madison (Iowa) Community Hospital will become one hospital with two lo- cations. e two hospitals will share the name Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center. e University of Oklahoma and OU Medi- cine's parent organization University Hospi- tals Authority and Trust signed an agreement to merge and create an academic health sys- tem in Oklahoma. e Medical University of South Carolina plans to buy three hospitals, a freestanding emergency room and affiliated physician practices owned by Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health. MUSC is looking to buy KershawHealth, a sin- gle-hospital system in Camden, S.C., and Prov- idence Health, a two-hospital system based in Columbia, S.C., from LifePoint. Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro, Ala., signed a letter of intent to join the nine-hos- pital Huntsville (Ala.) Hospital Health System effective Oct. 1. Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health signed a definitive agreement to acquire Louis- ville, Ky.-based Kindred Healthcare. Rush Health Systems, a seven-hospital system in Meridian, Miss., signed an agreement to join New Orleans-based Ochsner Health. Two Michigan health systems — Beaumont Health and Spectrum Health — have signed a letter of intent to create a new 22-hospital health system. Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare will sell five hospitals in Florida to Dallas-based Steward Health Care for $1.1 billion, the organizations said June 16. Monongahela Valley Hospital, a 200-bed facil- ity in Wickerham Manor-Fisher, Pa., signed a definitive agreement to join DuBois, Pa.-based Penn Highlands Healthcare. n
