Providence, R.I.-based Care New England and Boston-based Partners HealthCare agreed to enter into a definitive agreement to merge Jan. 25. e boards of trustees of New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System and Oceanside, N.Y.-based South Nassau Communities Hos- pital announced their intent to affiliate Jan. 24. e boards of LifeBridge Health, a four-hos- pital system in Baltimore, and Elkton, Md.- based Union Hospital of Cecil County signed a letter of intent to merge Jan. 18. Toledo, Ohio-based ProMedica completed its acquisition of Coldwater, Mich.-based Commu- nity Health Center of Branch County Jan. 1. Quincy, Ill.-based Blessing Health System is acquiring Hannibal (Mo.) Clinic, moving their recent affiliation forward. King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services has entered an agreement to purchase a 109-bed behavioral health hospital and two outpatient clinics in Gulfport, Miss., from Me- morial Hospital at Gulfport. Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health and Tenet Healthcare have reached a defin- itive agreement to sell Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-White Rock, a 218-bed hos- pital in Dallas, to Pipeline Health, a hospital management company based in Manhattan Beach, Calif. Kansas City, Mo.-based Saint Luke's Health System is expanding its Kansas City footprint through the acquisition of six area clinics from St. Joseph, Mo.-based Mosaic Life Care. Port Jefferson, N.Y.-based John T. Mather Memorial Hospital agreed to join New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health. Gaylord, Mich.-based Otsego Memorial Hos- pital will officially join Traverse City, Mich.- based Munson Healthcare. Emeryville, Calif.-based Canopy Health, a physician- and hospital-owned medical enter- prise, added Good Samaritan Health System, a two-hospital system in San Jose, Calif., to its expanding network, officials announced Feb. 8. Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health, for- merly Carolinas HealthCare System, signed a letter of intent to merge with Macon, Ga.- based Navicent Health Feb. 8. Marshfield (Wis.) Clinic Health System fi- nalized the terms of its agreement to integrate Ladysmith, Wis.-based Rusk County Memo- rial Hospital Feb. 6. Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center created a joint ven- ture Feb. 2 to take over Sparta, N.C.-based Al- leghany Memorial Hospital.
