As CMO of Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Health Plan, Dr. Courneya oversees Kaiser Permanente's national quality agenda, helps ensure the organization's members receive quality care, and advocates for the ad- vancement of evidence-based medicine. Prior to his current role, Dr. Courneya spent 10 years as medical director of HealthPartners Health Plan. With more than 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Courneya is a former chair of America's Health Insurance Plans' CMO leadership council. David Crabb. CMO of Eskenazi Health (Indianapolis). Dr. Crabb became the CMO of Eskenazi Health in 2017 after spending 15 years as the chair of Indianapolis-based Indiana University School of Medicine's department of medicine. In his current role, Dr. Crabb is responsible for leading Eskenazi's medical staff and providing administrative oversight to the health system's quality and safety initiatives, clinical informatics, and physician engagement. He also leads Eskenazi's graduate medical ed- ucation and healthcare system management. Since 2016, Dr. Crabb has served as chairman of the board for Eskenazi Medical Group. Ravin Davidoff, MBBCh. Senior Vice President and CMO of Boston Medical Center. Dr. Davidoff became vice president of med- ical affairs and CMO of Boston Medical Center in 2008 and was named senior vice president and CMO in 2011. In this role, Dr. Davidoff is re- sponsible for network development, graduate medical education, medi- cal affairs, the medical executive committee and clinical affiliations. A fellowship-trained physician in cardiology, Dr. Davidoff also serves as a professor of medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. Isabelle Desjardins, MD. CMO of The University of Vermont Medical Center (Burlington). Dr. Desjardins was named UVM Medical Center CMO in October 2017 after holding several prior clinical leadership roles at the hospital. She also serves as an associate professor of psychiatry at UVM's Larner College of Medicine. Dr. Diaz began his career with Tenet in 2004 at Tenet-affiliated St. Vincent Hos- pital in Worcester, Mass., as chief of the emergency department and was later promoted to CMO. With more than 25 years of experience as an emergency physician, Dr. Diaz is now responsible for ensuring safety and quality care across Tenet's 79 hospitals and affiliated facilities. Prior to joining the company's Dallas headquarters in 2016, he served as CMO for Tenet's Florida and Northeest Regions. William Ellert, MD. CMO of Abrazo Health and Arizona Care Network (Phoenix). Dr. Ellert oversees efforts to implement ad- vanced patient safety and clinical quality initiatives at Abrazo Health's five acute care hospitals as the health system's CMO. He also serves as CMO of Arizona Care Network, a clinically integrated network founded in 2012 and collaboratively owned with Phoenix-based Dignity Health Arizona. Vice President of Medical Affairs and CMO of Schneck Medical Center (Seymour, Ind.). Dr. Fish provides exec- utive leadership, direction and administration for Schneck's medical staff as vice president of medical affairs and CMO of Schneck Medical Center. He previously served as president of Schneck's medical staff and chair- man of the Physician Excellence Committee. Dr. Flint began his 30-year healthcare career at Chicago-based Michael Reese Hospital, where he spent a decade in emergency medical services and ambulatory leadership positions. He went on to join Baystate Health in Springfield, Mass., as CMO, where he spent 20 years leading the health system's clinical team. Dr. Flint was then elected CMO of Inova, and has since spearheaded the health system's role in creating Pediatric Specialists of Virginia, a joint venture with Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Fritz Francois, MD. CMO and Patient Safety Officer of NYU Langone Health (New York City). Dr. Francois first joined NYU Langone Health as a medical student; he also completed his residen- cy and fellowship training there before entering into practice. He rose through the ranks to become NYU Langone's CMO and patient safety officer, responsible for the four-hospital health system's medical staff. In addition to his role with NYU Langone, Dr. Francois is an associate professor in the department of medicine at the hospital. Board certified in internal medicine, his research on colon cancer and diversity among patients is published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology and Clinical & Translational Gastroenterology. Harris Frankel, MD. Senior Vice President and CMO of Ne- braska Medicine (Omaha). After spending 21 years in private prac- tice, Dr. Frankel joined the University of Nebraska Medical Center and became CMO in January 2014. As a board certified physician in phys- iatry and neurology, Dr. Frankel also serves as the medical director for UNMC Physicians Clinical Neurosciences Center. He is a past president of the Metropolitan Omaha Medical Society and president-elect of the Nebraska Medical Association. Dr. Grichnik joined Indian River Medical Center in 2016 and spent time as chief quality officer before being promoted to her current role. She also spent time as the director of research, education and quality of anesthesiology as well as vice president for quality and safety at Mednax. Michael Glenn, MD. CMO of Virginia Mason Medical Center (Seattle). Dr. Glenn was the physician-in-chief and medical director of Virginia Mason Medical Center before being named CMO in 2013, leading a team of 470 physicians employed by the hospital. He is also the medical director of the 336-bed hospital's cancer institute and an associ- ate professor at the University of Washington in Seattle. Board certified in otolaryngology, Dr. Glenn specializes in head and neck cancer treat- ment, microvascular surgical techniques, thyroid surgery and parotid surgery.
