Shares of healthcare companies fell shortly aer the announcement. n Lehigh Valley Health Network Eliminates 70 Management Positions By Ayla Ellison A llentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network cut 70 management po- sitions in early February amid financial pressures, according to The Morn- ing Call. Although LVHN did not specify which departments were affected by the cuts, the health system said the workforce reduction will not affect patient care. "LVHN, like health networks nationwide, is being challenged by strong forces in our healthcare environment," the health system said in a statement to The Morn- ing Call. LVHN, which has hospitals on eight campuses, is feeling pressure from declining reimbursement, increasing competition and the shift from inpatient to outpatient care, according to the report. However, the system is adjusting its strategy to help ensure success in the chang- ing healthcare environment.
