Here are four things to know: 1. Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush is collaborating with the Franciscan Health Center for Joint Surgery at Francis- can Health Munster hospital to provide joint reconstruc- tive and replacement services. 2. MOR's Dennis Nam, MD, will be the medical director for Franciscan Health Munster's joint replacement pro- gram. He will be responsible for all aspects of joint re- placement care at Franciscan Health, including staffing and protocols. 3. Franciscan Health Munster's CEO Patrick Maloney hopes the partnership will boost orthopedic services in northwest Indiana. U.S. News & World Report ranked Rush's orthopedic program as No. 5 in the nation for 2017-18. 4. The partners will focus on inpatient joint replacement and reconstruction. Former COO and Director of Reha- bilitation Tim Marlow has become the practice's new CEO. Mr. Marlow has more than 30 years of experi- ence in healthcare and spent time as a practicing physical therapist be- fore joining the SpineCenterAtlanta & Affiliates team. The practice now includes 140 employees at three lo- cations. SpineCenterAtlanta & Affiliates en- compasses a surgical center, MRI, physical therapy, massage therapy and more. James L. Chappuis, MD, founded the practice and previously served as CEO. He will continue practicing as the senior orthopedic spine surgeon with the group and chairman of the board. "We owe a great deal to Dr. Chap- puis for his vision and determination in founding SpineCenterAtlanta and his thoughtful leadership over many years in building a thriving enterprise that has positively affected the lives of hundreds of patients who have benefited from our services," said Mr. Marlow. Health entered a partnership in February to create HSS Orthopedics at Stamford Health, according to Westfair Online. Here are six insights: 1. Now, the two hospitals are gearing up to move HSS Orthopedics at Stamford Health into the new Stamford Hospital's fih floor. 2. e collaboration created the hospital's department of orthope- dics. Charles "Chip" Cornell, MD, serves as the new department's chair. 3. Since April, HSS Orthopedics at Stamford Health has been locat- ed in Stamford Hospital's Tully Health Center. 4. HSS has helped Stamford establish "pre-op optimization," which involves pinpointing a patient's concerns during the initial visit. is process has reduced orthopedic procedures' cancellation rate. 5. e orthopedics department will include 15 surgeons with some focused on outpatient procedures. 6.
