Houston-based Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center CEO Terry Wheeler retired, ending a 14- year tenure. Los Angeles-based Prospect Medical Holdings selected Peter Adamo to serve as president and CEO of Waterbury (Conn.) Hospital and the Greater Waterbury Health Network. Austin, Texas-based St. David's Round Rock Medical Center named Jeremy Barclay CEO. Michael Kerner, CEO of Bon Secours Hampton Roads (Va.) health system, is stepping down. Hancock, Mich.-based Upper Peninsula Health System-Portage CEO Jeff Lang is leaving his position. Lowville, N.Y.-based Lewis County General Hospital appointed Gerald Cayer, MPH, as CEO. Florida Hospital Zephyrhilis appointed Amanda Maggard CEO, effective Sept. 4. Osage Beach, Mo.-based Lake Regional Health System appointed Dane Henry CEO. Alexander Hatala retired as CEO of Camden, N.J.-based Lourdes Health System. Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System appointed Joan Coffman president and CEO of its St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, Ill., effective Sept. 5. Kalispell (Mont.) Regional Healthcare named Pamela Robertson CEO, effective Sept. 15 University of New Mexico (Albuquerque) Hospitals CEO Steve McKernan will retire effective Oct. 1. Osage Beach, Mo.-based Lake Regional Health System appointed Dane Henry CEO effective Sept. 18. Minneapolis-based Children's Minnesota named Emily Chapman, MD, CMO and vice president of medical affairs. Mary Ann Barnes, president of Kaiser Foundation Health Plans and Hospitals Hawaii, will retire in September. Indianapolis-based Riley Children's Health appointed Paul R. Haut, MD, COO and Elaine Cox, MD, CMO. Gainesville, Ga.-based Northeast Georgia Health System named Brian D. Steines as its new CFO. Dennis Laraway, executive vice president and CFO of Houston-based Memorial Hermann, will join Phoenix-based Banner Health as CFO. Renton, Wash.-based Providence St. Joseph Health named Venkat Bhamidipati executive vice president and CFO. Dan Friedrich, CEO of Bradenton, Fla.-based Blake Medical Center, will retire aer 15 years of service. Lesley Ogden, MD, CEO of Lincoln City, Ore.- based Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital, was also named CEO of Newport, Ore.-based Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital. Crisfield, Md.-based McCready Health named Kathleen Harrison CEO. Hiawatha (Kan.) Community Hospital hired Jeffrey Shelton to serve as CEO. Venice (Fla.) Regional Bayfront Health named Maria Caruso CFO. Phoenix Children's Hospital named Douglas Myers executive vice president and CFO. Broken Bow, Neb.-based Melham Memorial Medical Center President/CEO Michael J. Steckler is retiring, ending a 32-year tenure. Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs, Va., a critical access hospital, selected Deb Shipman to serve as CFO. Pasadena, Calif.-based Huntington Hospital appointed Lori Morgan, MD, president and CEO, effective in September. n Hospital and Health System Transactions Henderson, Ky.-based Methodist Hospital's board of directors agreed July 27 to pursue a long-term affiliation with Deaconess Health System, a six-hospital system in Evansville, Ind. Port Jefferson, N.Y.-based John T. Mather Memorial Hospital's board of directors signed a letter of intent July 28 to join New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health. Memorial Hospital of Martinsville (Va.) & Henry County, a 223-bed facility, and 250-bed Danville Regional (Va.) Medical Center merged into SOVAH Health the week of July 24. Boston Children's Hospital and Cleveland Clinic partnered to offer complex pediatric heart services through Cleveland Clinic's national cardiovascular network, which contracts directly with employers. Columbus-based Mount Carmel Health System and Franklin, Tenn.-based Acadia Healthcare embarked on a joint venture July 24 to develop a $26 million, 80-bed inpatient behavioral health hospital in Columbus. Lufkin, Texas-based CHI St. Luke's Health-Memorial officials are pursuing a management service agreement with the Trinity (Texas) Memorial Hospital District board and its outpatient clinic. The boards of directors of Harrisburg, Pa.-based PinnacleHealth and Hanover (Pa.) HealthCare Plus signed a definitive agreement July 24 to form a strategic partnership Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare agreed to acquire Highlands Regional Medical Center, a 126-bed hospital in Sebring, Fla., from subsidiaries of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems July 21. Owensboro (Ky.) Health became the seventh hospital to join the Lexington-based University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center Research Network. Columbia, Mo.-based MU Health Care plans to sell its 35 percent minority interest in Fulton (Mo.) Medical Center. Macon, Ga.-based Navicent Health signed a temporary agreement to manage Oconee Regional Medical Center, a 140-bed hospital in Milledgeville, Ga.
