Hudson opened as an independent facility in 1953 and in 2009 joined HealthPartners, an integrated health system in Bloomington, Minn. is 25-bed critical access hospital sees about 1,500 inpatient admissions annually and provides the only hospitalist services in western Wisconsin. It has been nationally recognized for both clinical quality and environmental practices. e hospital received a Top 25 Environmental Excellence award from Practice Greenhealth in 2015 to 2017. Huggins Hospital (Wolfeboro, N.H.). Since opening in 1907, Huggins Hospital has grown expansively to provide more comprehensive patient services. It expanded into an updated $55 million facility in May 2010 and offers a vast range of advanced medical and specialty care. Huggins Hospital is currently part of a proposed affiliation between four hospitals, pending regulatory approval, aimed at sustaining local, community- based healthcare. National Rural Health Association named Huggins a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital for quality in 2016. Iowa Specialty Hospital & Clinics – Belmond (Iowa). Originally two award-winning facilities, Belmond Medical Center and Wright Medical Center in Eagle Grove, Iowa, combined to create Iowa Specialty Hospital & Clinics in 2012. e organization's commitment to excellence, both in patient satisfaction and clinical performance, is evidenced by its litany of prestigious healthcare awards. In 2017, the Belmond facility received the Women's Choice Award for both patient experience and safety, and was named a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital in patient satisfaction by the National Rural Health Association in 2017. Kittitas Valley Healthcare Hospital (Ellensburg, Wash.). Kittitas Valley Healthcare Hospital serves 41,000 residents in Kittitas County, Wash. e hospital holds community roundtables several times a year to discuss local health initiatives and collect feedback. KVH Hospital received the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association's Get With e Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award in 2017. e hospital plans to open a new occupational service line in fall 2017. Madison (S.D.) Regional Health System. Madison Regional Health System is a 22-bed nonprofit hospital with 200 employees. e hospital has served Madison residents for more than a century. In 2013, Madison Regional Health System founded the Madison Regional Health Foundation to support community health and wellness initiatives. Magruder Hospital (Port Clinton, Ohio). Magruder Hospital is a 25-bed nonprofit hospital serving patients through more than 32,000 physician office visits, 74,000 outpatient visits and 15,000 emergency room visits annually. iVantage Health Analytics named Magruder Hospital to its list of Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the U.S. for three consecutive years from 2013-16. e hospital provides numerous health promotion, education and community outreach programs for local residents, including health screenings, exercise classes and support groups. Martha's Vineyard Hospital (Oak Bluffs, Mass.). Martha's Vineyard Hospital is a member of Partners HealthCare and an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital, both in Boston. e hospital seeks to expand patients' access to care through numerous population health initiatives, including an annual health fair, substance abuse disorder team and needle disposal program. In 2017, iVantage Health Analytics named the hospital among its Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the U.S. for the fourth consecutive year. Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Cedar (Menomonie, Wis.). Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Cedar is a multispecialty medical and surgical group offering specialized care to the residents of western Wisconsin. Red Cedar's clinic affiliated with Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic in 1995, and the hospital also affiliated with Mayo the following year. Mayo Clinic-Red Cedar was featured on iVantage Health Analytics' Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals list for five consecutive years from 2010-15. Memorial Hospital (Seward, Neb.). Memorial Hospital, owned and operated by Seward-based Memorial Health Care Systems, opened its doors in 1950. Along with its flagship facility, the nonprofit hospital includes three family medicine clinics, a pharmacy and physical therapy center. iVantage Health Analytics named Memorial Hospital to its list of Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the U.S. for 2017. Mercy Hospital Kingfisher (Okla.). Mercy Hospital Kingfisher is a member of the St. Charles, Mo.-based Mercy, a nonprofit health system. e 25-bed hospital offers primary and specialty healthcare services to residents in western Oklahoma, including oncology, endoscopic surgery and radiology services. e National Rural Health Association named Mercy Hospital Kingfisher to its Top 20 Critical Access Hospital list in 2017. Mercy Hospital Logan County (Guthrie, Okla.). Mercy Hospital Logan County, a 25-bed member of St. Charles, Mo.-based Mercy, serves the residents of central Oklahoma. e National Rural Health Association recognized Mercy Hospital Logan County as a Best Practice Recepient in Quality in 2017. e hospital's physicians and surgeons primarily perform outpatient procedures. Mercy Hospital Logan County received four stars from CMS in the most recent quarter. Millinocket (Maine) Regional Hospital. Millinocket Regional Hospital was founded in 1952 and designated as a critical access hospital in 2002. In 2015, the nonprofit hospital joined 10 other community hospitals in Maine to form the Community Care Partnership of Maine, an ACO dedicated to improving quality and reducing unnecessary care. iVantage Health Analytics named Millinocket Regional Hospital to its list of Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the U.S. for 2017. Mitchell County Hospital (Colorado City, Texas). Mitchell County Hospital opened in 1913 as the first hospital in Colorado City. e hospital moved to a new facility in 2014 and now operates as a 25- bed critical access hospital that owns a rural health clinic. Eight full- time employees and seven part-time employees staff the hospital and the clinic includes three physicians, a general surgeon and one nurse practitioner. e National Rural Health Association named Mitchell County Hospital among the 2017 Top 20 Critical Access Hospital Best Practice in Quality recognition recipients. Mount Desert Island Hospital (Bar Harbor, Maine). Founded as a 10-bed hospital in 1897, Mount Desert Island Hospital has since transformed into an award-winning 25-bed critical access hospital with nine regional health centers and a retirement community. Maine Emergency Medical Services named Mount Desert Island Trauma System Hospital of the Year in 2016, the same year Healthgrades recognized the hospital with the Outstanding Patient Experience Award. iVantage Health Analytics and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health honored Mount Desert Island with the National Rural Health Day Performance Leadership Award in 2015. Myrtue Medical Center (Harlan, Iowa). Myrtue Medical Center is an integrated healthcare facility, featuring five medical clinics in addition to a behavioral health center, family wellness center and aquatic complex. e hospital generates 582 jobs in the community and
