North Wilkesboro, N.C.-based Wilkes Regional Medical Center will rebrand once its lease agreement with Win- ston-Salem, N.C.-based Wake Forest Baptist Medical Cen- ter is finalized July 1. Irving, Texas-based Christus Health revealed plans to ac- quire Lake Area Medical Center, an 88-bed facility in Lake Charles, La. Lewiston, Idaho-based St. Joseph Regional Medical Cen- ter formed a partnership with Brentwood, Tenn.-based RCCH HealthCare Partners, which took effect May 1. The board of directors for Syracuse, N.Y.-based Crouse Hos- pital approved a proposal to enter into a clinical affiliation with New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health. Oceanside, N.Y.-based South Nassau Communities Hospi- tal and New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System signed a nonbinding letter of intent to affiliate. San Antonio-based Methodist Healthcare System declared its intent to acquire South Texas Regional Medical Center, a 67- bed facility in Jourdanton, Texas. Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Holdings is looking to grow by acquiring more hospitals, officials said during a first quarter earnings call May 2. St. Louis-based Ascension revealed plans to cease its corpo- rate sponsorship of Buffalo, N.Y.-based Catholic Health. The boards of trustees of Edison, N.J.-based JFK Health and Hackensack Meridian Health, also in Edison, signed a de- finitive agreement to merge the two health systems follow- ing five months of due diligence. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems complet- ed its sale of eight hospitals to Boston-based Steward Health Hospital and Health Systems Executive Moves Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health named Lar- ry Antonucci, MD, president and CEO. Parker County Hospital District in Weatherford, Texas, selected Randy Bacus to serve as CEO. Pasadena, Calif.-based Huntington Hospital President and CEO Steve Ralph is retiring, end- ing a 22-year tenure as leader of the hospital. Doug DiVello, president of the University of Vermont Health Network-Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y., stepped down, effec- tive May 3. Petersburg, Va.-based Southside Regional Medical Center tapped Trent Erik Nobles to serve as its permanent CEO. Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Medical Center CEO Jeff Welch is leaving his post for a new position with Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, the medical center's parent. TriStar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tenn., hired Brian Marger to serve as CEO, ef- fective June 1. Oswego (N.Y.) Health selected Michael Har- lovic, BSN, MSN, RN, to serve as its new pres- ident and CEO. West Des Moines, Iowa-based Mercy Health Network named Bob Ritz CEO, effective July 1. Burbank, Calif.-based Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center appointed Kelly Linden CEO. Phoenix-based Banner Health named Hoyt Skabelund CEO of Sterling (Colo.) Regional MedCenter. Coliseum Medical Centers in Macon, Ga., named Stephen Daugherty its permanent CEO. Greensburg, Ind.-based Decatur County Me- morial Hospital appointed Rex McKinney president and CEO, effective June 1. Columbia-based University of Missouri Health Care CFO Brian Steines is leaving for a new role, effective June 30. Gastonia, N.C.-based CaroMont Health tapped Chris Peek to serve as permanent president and CEO, effective May 15. Vivian Lee, MD, PhD, stepped down from her roles as senior vice president for health scienc- es, medical school dean and CEO of University of Utah Health Care in Salt Lake City. Toby Cosgrove, MD, president and CEO of Cleveland Clinic, revealed plans to transition out of his executive roles later this year.
