In May 2011, Capella Healthcare named Mr. Smith to his current roles. He is also chairman of the HIT Task Force for the Federation of American Hospitals and a board member of the Tennessee Health Information Management Society. Prior to joining Capella, he was vice president of applications and interim CIO of Vanguard Health System in Nashville, Tenn., which was acquired by Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare in 2013. Ryan Smith. Senior Vice President of Information Technology and CIO of Banner Health (Phoenix). Mr. Smith has been senior vice president of IT and CIO of the health system since 2013. Previously, he served at Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare for nearly 20 years, where he held a number of leadership positions related to IT. He earned an MBA with an emphasis on IT management from Western Governor's University in Salt Lake City. Steven Smith. CIO of NorthShore University HealthSystem (Evan- ston, Ill.). NorthShore named Mr. Smith CIO in April 2012, aer he spent more than 11 years as chief technology officer of the organization. During his tenure, the health system became one of the first in the U.S. to achieve the HIMSS Stage 7 designation. Brent Snyder. CIO of Adventist Health System (Altamonte Springs, Fla.). Mr. Snyder, who has spent more than 30 years with Adventist Health System, has been corporate CIO for the system since 2016, when Adventist Health System integrated its two IT departments into one IT service provider. Prior to his CIO role, he was CFO of the sys- tem's multi-state division, vice president and CFO of Madison-based Tennessee Christian Medical Center and CFO of Greeneville, Tenn.- based Takoma Adventist Hospital. Subra Sripada. Executive Vice President, Chief Transformation Offi- cer and System CIO of Beaumont Health (Royal Oak, Mich.). Mr. Sri- pada serves as executive vice president, chief transformation officer and system CIO of Beaumont Health, a nonprofit organization established in 2014 by Royal Oak-based Beaumont Health System, Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Botsford Health Care and Oakwood Healthcare in Wayne County, Mich. Prior to his current roles, Mr. Sripada was executive vice president, chief administrative officer and CIO of Royal Oak-based Beaumont Health System. He is a member of CHIME and serves on the board of Michigan Health Connect, a health information exchange con- sortium, and on the Governor's Cyber Security Council. Brian Sterud. CIO of Faith Regional Health Services (Norfolk, Neb.). Mr. Sterud, a CHIME certified CIO, assumed his current role at Faith Regional in 2012. He was previously director of information manage- ment at Brookings (S.D.) Health Systems. He has worked in numerous roles within the healthcare industry, including as network analyst and data systems engineer. Joey Sudomir. Senior Vice President of Innovative Technology Solu- tions and CIO of Texas Health Resources (Arlington). Mr. Sudomir joined Texas Health Resources as vice president of IT operations in 2013. He is a CHIME certified CIO and earned a master's degree in in- formation technology from University of Texas at Dallas. Before coming to Texas Health Resources, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare employed him to manage operational ownership for information technology at more than 60 hospitals. Phyllis Teater. Associate Vice President and CIO of e Ohio State Wexner Medical Center (Columbus). Ms. Teater has been CIO of the medical center for the past seven years, since January 2010. Prior to her current role, Ms. Teater was deputy CIO of the medical center, and she was director of applications development from May 1998 to June 2005. During her tenure, the medical center achieved HIMSS Stage 7. Brian Tew. Vice President of Information Technology and CIO of Greater Hudson Valley Health System (Middletown, N.Y.). Mr. Tew was vice president of operations and CIO of Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H., before joining Greater Hudson Valley Health Sys- tem. He was instrumental in gaining the approval that replaced Catholic Medical Center's paper system with an EHR system. Mr. Tew, who has more than 20 years of IT experience, also served as director of infor- mation systems at Vero Beach, Fla.-based Indian River Medical Center. Tim Thompson. Senior Vice President and CIO of BayCare Health System (Clearwater, Fla.). The health system named Mr. Thompson CIO in September 2010. He joined BayCare from the Houston Methodist, where he was senior vice president and CIO. At Methodist, he launched a health information exchange, which centralized patient information and data. Jim Veline. Senior Vice President and CIO of Avera Health (Sioux Falls, S.D.). Mr. Veline oversees the IT services for the health sys- tem, which includes 900 employed physicians serving more than 300 locations. He has been on Hospitals & Health Networks' Most Wired editorial board for eight years and on the Verizon Wireless Advisory Board for four years. He led the development of Avera's telemedicine program, Avera eCare. Joel Vengco. Vice President and CIO of Baystate Health (Spring- field, Mass.). Mr. Vengco has been in his current roles since June 2012. He is also CIO of Pioneer Valley Accountable Care and the founder of TechSpring, Baystate Health's technology innovation center. Prior to joining Baystate, he was vice president and general manager at one of the business units within GE Healthcare IT. John Ward. Senior Vice President and CIO of TriHealth (Cincinnati). Mr. Ward was named senior vice president and CIO of the health system in May 2015 aer serving as director of ambulatory systems since Febru- ary 2013. Prior to joining TriHealth, Mr. Ward was a managing director at Indianapolis-based Fusion Alliance, an enterprise solution provider. He is a member of HIMSS and CHIME. David Weiss. Senior Vice President and CIO of BJC HealthCare (St. Louis). In addition to his role as CIO of the health system, Mr. Weiss is the chairman of the Telecommunication Facilities Corp., a joint ven- ture between BJC and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He is the treasurer of Missouri Health Connection, a statewide health information exchange organization. He is also a past chairman of the Healthcare Information Systems Executives Association. Deanna Wise. Executive Vice President and CIO of Dignity Health (San Francisco). Since November 2011, Ms. Wise has been as exec- utive vice president and CIO of Dignity Health, formerly known as Catholic Healthcare West. Previously, she was senior vice president and CIO of Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanguard Health Systems, which merged with Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare in 2013. Under her lead- ership, Dignity Health achieved HIMSS Analytics Stage 6 designation in September 2015. Eric Yablonka. Vice President and CIO of University of Chicago Medicine and Biological Sciences. Mr. Yablonka has been in his cur- rent roles for the more than 15 years, beginning in 2001. He was pre- viously vice president and CIO of Saint Raphael Healthcare System in New Haven, Conn. In 2006, he received the CHIME-HIMSS John E. Gall Jr. CIO of the Year Award. n
