In his current role, he oversees tele- communication, IT operations and IT strategy for the entire health sys- tem. As a CIO, his honors include the InformationWeek Top 100 Inno- vator Award in 2016 and recognition on Hospitals & Health Networks' Most Wired list in 2015. Prior to taking on his position at Saint Peter's Healthcare System, Mr. DiSanzo was CIO of New York City-based Stat- en Island University Hospital. Jake Dorst. Chief Innovation Officer and CIO of Tahoe Forest Health District (Truckee, Calif.). Mr. Dorst has been CIO of Tahoe Forest Health District since 2014. His responsibilities expanded in 2015, when he was also appointed as chief innovation officer. Prior to joining Tahoe Forest Health District, he was vice president and CIO of Hagerstown, Md.-based Meritus Health and CIO of Petersburg, Va.-based Southside Regional Medical Center. Marcy Dunn. Senior Vice President and CIO of MaineHealth (Portland). Ms. Dunn has been the senior vice president and CIO of MaineHealth since 2016. In this role, she is responsible for IT operations across the health sys- tem; in particular, she has helped with a systemwide Epic EHR adoption initiative. Prior to joining MaineHealth, Ms. Dunn was senior vice president and CIO of Catholic Health Services of Long Island in Melville, N.Y. Dee Emon, BSN. Vice President and CIO of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (Winston-Salem, N.C.). Ms. Emon joined Wake For- est Baptist Medical Center in 2014 and was named vice president and CIO in 2015. Prior to joining the medical center, she was a performance improvement executive at Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare and corporate chief nurse executive and quality officer at Boca Raton, Fla.-based Can- cer Treatment Centers of America. She is a board-certified nurse execu- tive and a certified professional in healthcare quality. Carlos Escobar. Vice President and CIO of Adventist Health System, Central Florida Region (Greater Orlando). Mr. Escobar was appoint- ed vice president and CIO of Adventist Health System, Central Florida Region in April 2016. He previously held various positions at Orlan- do-based Florida Hospital, including vice president of business systems and IT shared services, and assistant vice president of information sys- tems. Mr. Escobar, who earned an MBA from DeLand, Fla.-based Seton University, is a CHIME-certified healthcare CIO. Ferdinand Feola. Vice President and CIO of Pocono Medical Center (East Stroudsburg, Pa.). Mr. Feola joined Pocono Medical Center in 2008. He has more than 25 years of IT experience in multiple indus- tries. Prior to his role at Pocono Medical Center, he served as senior vice president of information technology and information security officer at KNBT Bank and as CIO of Keystone Savings Bank. Dave Fiser. Vice President and CIO of Cleveland Clinic Akron (Ohio) General. Mr. Fiser has been vice president and CIO of Akron General since 2009, and he continued to hold his role aer Cleveland Clinic took full ownership of Akron General in 2015. With more than 30 years of health IT experience, Mr. Fiser is a member of HIMSS and CHIME. He has earned the Hospital & Health Networks' Most Wired Hospital seven times. He holds an MBA from Flint, Mich.-based Baker College. Rick Frederick. CIO of Cottage Hospital (Woodsville, N.H.). In 2014, Mr. Frederick became CIO of Cottage Hospital, a 25-bed critical access hospital, aer spending time as the hospital's director of information technology. Mr. Frederick also was director of technology services at Lowell, Mass.-based Saints Medical Center and an engineer at Burl- ington, Mass.-based Avid Technology. rough his leadership, Cottage Hospital was one of the first hospitals in the nation to successfully attest to meaningful use stage 2 in the first quarter of 2014. Renee Fosberg. CIO of Emerson Hospital (Concord, Mass.). Ms. Fos- berg is CIO of Emerson Hospital, a 179-bed hospital that Hospitals & Health Networks named on the Health Care's Most Wired list in 2016. Ms. Fosberg has been senior director of information systems, senior director of applications and director of outpatient applications at Em- erson. Before joining Emerson, she was applications manager at Bos- ton-based Caritas Christi Health Care. Shirley Gabriel. Vice President of Information Systems and CIO of University Health Care System (Augusta, Ga.). Ms. Gabriel began her tenure as vice president of information systems and CIO of University Health Care System in 2015. Previously, she was the vice president and CIO of Tucson-based University of Arizona Health Network, where she assisted with a $100 million Epic EHR implementation. Ms. Gabriel has also served as administrative director of information technology and services at Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health System. Roland Garcia. Senior Vice President and CIO of Baptist Health (Jacksonville, Fla.). Mr. Garcia took on the role of senior vice president and CIO of Baptist Health in 2001. Since then, he's led the EHR imple- mentation at Jacksonville-based Baptist Medical Center South and then across the Baptist Health system. Previously, he was vice president and CIO of Pensacola, Fla.-based Baptist Health Care. Indranil (Neal) Ganguly. Vice President and CIO of JFK Health Sys- tem (Edison, N.J.). Before being named vice president and CIO of JFK Health System in 2013, Mr. Ganguly was CIO of Freehold, N.J.-based CentraState Healthcare System for almost 15 years. He is currently on CHIME's board of directors and has held various leadership positions with HIMSS. Mr. Ganguly earned an MBA from New York City-based New York Institute of Technology-Old Westbury. Sreekant Gottimukkala. Vice President of Information Systems and CIO of Prime Healthcare Services (Ontario, Calif.). In 2006, Mr. Gottimukkala became CIO of Prime Healthcare. Six years lat- er, he was named vice president and CIO of Prime. Prior to 2006, Mr. Gottimukkala was an architect with IBM Global Services and American Express, and a project leader with Intelligroup and Indus Business Systems. He earned a master's degree in computers from Guntur, India-based Nagarjuna University. Joy Grosser. CIO of University Hospitals (Cleveland). Ms. Grosser's appointment as CIO of University Hospitals is recent — she took over the role in September 2016. With more than two decades of experience in health IT leadership, she most recently was CIO of West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health. She has also been CIO of Orange-based University of California, Irvine Health System, executive director of IT at Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola University Health System and CIO of Kansas City, Mo.-based Health Midwest. John Halamka, MD. Senior Vice President of Information Systems and CIO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Boston). Dr. Halamka took over the CIO position at BIDMC in 1998 and helped with an EHR system implementation there in 1999. A practicing emergency physician and a Harvard Medical School professor, Dr. Halamka also finds time to write on his blog, "Life as a Healthcare CIO." He is chair- man of the New England Healthcare Exchange Network and co-chair of the HIT Standards Committee. C. Martin Harris, MD. CIO and Chairman of the Information Tech- nology Division for Cleveland Clinic. Not only is Dr. Harris the CIO and chairman of the information technology division of Cleveland Clin- ic, but he's also a practicing physician and board-certified in internal medicine. He earned his medical degree and an MBA from Philadel- phia-based University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Harris has been a part of nu- merous commissions regarding interoperability, including the HIMSS National Health Information Infrastructure Task Force and the Con- gressional Commission on Systemic Interoperability.
