ical surface repair patch for damaged hospital mattresses and stretchers.
ey can repair more than 90 percent of common hospital mattress cuts,
tears and punctures.
Disposable Linen. Tollos' disposable linen can replace reusable linen and
is recyclable, making it environmentally friendly. e fitted sheets have
elastic sewn around for improved fitting, allowing the sheet to fit various
surfaces.
Fantex Disposable Curtains. Statina's Fantex Disposable Curtains are treated
with Fantex, an antimicrobial protective agent that can kill microbes in as
little as three minutes. e curtains are 100 percent recyclable.
Lifereads Antimicrobial Textiles. ese scrubs from Lifereads are
treated with an Environmental Protection Agency-registered antimicro-
bial active ingredient to protect the fabric from germs. ey also block
fluids.
Purread. Silver salts are embedded in Purread fibers, offering antimi-
crobial protection that doesn't weaken over time. According to Purread
Technologies, it is still fully effective aer 100 industrial washings.
SilvaClean. SilvaClean, from Applied Silver, is a water-based antimicro-
bial silver treatment to use on fibers to inhibit growth of bacteria. It is
installed at the laundry provider.
SilverCare Plus. NMI Health offers antimicrobial fabrics called Silver-
Care Plus, which are manufactured with X-Static silver yarn. Products
include scrubs, lab coats, patient gowns, privacy curtains, bed sheets and
blankets for medical use.
Water systems
Careguard. e Careguard comes from Neoperl and is a faucet attach-
ment that helps prevent airborne bacteria from entering the water sys-
tem. It has built-in antimicrobial protection and also provides a splash-
free stream.
DrainGel. DrainGel, from Medivators, a Cantel Medical company, is a
bacterial treatment that degrades biofilm in plumbing. It can be poured
down sink and floor drains or applied using a sprayer.
Miscellaneous
Angry Janitors. is app — available for free download on Apple and
Android devices — is made by the International Sanitary Supply Associ-
ation. It has three zones to clean: school, office and hospital.
BIOlogical. HealthFirst offers two types of BIOlogical spore test solu-
tions: a weekly mail-in monitoring service and an in-office test. Mail-in
service gives results in 24 hours, and in-office biological indicator shows
results in 10 hours.
CuVerro Overbed Table. Frigo Design is a CuVerro manufacturer of-
fering countertops, shower pans, chair arms, table tops and door push
plates made with bactericidal copper.
