Current Merit Health Biloxi (Miss.) CEO Monte Bostwick resigned from his position at the end of July. The Virginia Commonwealth Universi- ty Health System Hospitals and Clinics appointed Deborah Davis as the new CEO and vice president for clinical affairs, effec- tive Oct. 1. Board members of Benton, Ill.-based Frank- lin Hospital voted to accept the retirement of CEO Hervey Davis, effective June 30. Jill Duplechan, RN, was named COO of St. Joseph Heritage Healthcare's Southern California region. Jon Duval, CEO of Richmond, Va.-based VCU Hospitals and Clinics and vice pres- ident for clinical affairs, announced plans to retire, effective Sept. 30. He will stay on as an advisor to the health system through March 17, 2017. James "Jim" N. Elkins, director of the Texas Center for Infectious Disease in San Anto- nio, will retire aer 22 years in his position, effective Aug. 31. e Detroit Medical Center named Luanne omas Ewald CEO of DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan, effective July 1. Richard Gemming was named executive di- rector of the Western Connecticut Medical Group and vice president of Danbury-based Western Connecticut Health Network. New Hanover Regional Medical Center, an 800-bed facility in Wilmington, N.C., named John Gizdic president and CEO. Kris D. Gray, MD, is the new CMO of Flori- da Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Fla. Shriners Hospital for Children appoint- ed Purnendu Gupta, MD, chief of staff. Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare named Joanne Inman president of Sentara Leigh Hospital, also in Norfolk, effective July 11. Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth-Hitchcock health system named Daniel P. Jantzen as its new CFO. Margo Karsten, PhD, CEO of Cheyenne (Wyo.) Regional Medical Center, will resign Sept. 2. Brookfield-based Integrated Health Network of Wisconsin, a statewide network of major health systems and healthcare providers, welcomed Stephanie Lenzner as vice presi- dent of clinical integration. Mark Moore, president of Indiana Universi- ty Health Bloomington Hospital, announced plans to retire, effective Nov. 1. Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System tapped Dominic Moffa to serve as executive vice president and chief strategy officer of the organization. Chris Mowan was named president and CEO of Medical City Dallas Hospital, effec- tive July 25. Jaclyn A. Mucaria was named president of NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens in Flushing, N.Y., effective Aug. 1. Terika Richardson was appointed president of Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago. NYC Health + Hospitals named Israel Rocha Jr. as the new CEO of NYC Health + Hospital/Elmhurst in Queens, N.Y. Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth hired Brian Shipley as system vice president for government affairs. Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center has named Frances Spreer-Albert as its new CFO and executive vice president. Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, Calif., named Judith Stimson as its new CFO. Larry Tracy was named the new president of Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Ind. omas E. Wilhelmsen Jr., president and CEO of Nashua-based Southern New Hampshire Health, retired June 30 aer 28 years of service. Michael D. Williams, president and CEO of Plano, Texas-based Community Hospital Corp., will retire from the organization aer 20 years at the helm.
