MRH's care quality has been recognized by national healthcare organiza- tions: It was selected for the Maine Association of Physician Assistants' Outstanding Healthcare Professional Award in 2014 and was ranked among America's 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience by Women's Choice Award. Ministry Door County Medical Center (Stur- geon Bay, Wis.). Ministry Door County Medical Center is a fully accredited, nonprofit acute care hospital and outpatient medical center founded in 1943. rough strategic partnerships with community organizations, MDCMC has been a major player in the health and wellness move- ment. MDCMC sponsors community sporting events and arts organizations, is involved in local schools and has partnered with area employers to implement workplace wellness initiatives. It was recognized as a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital by the National Rural Health Associa- tion and a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by iVantage Health Analytics in 2016. Mount Desert Island Hospital (Bar Harbor, Maine). Since it was established in 1897, Mount Desert Island Hospital has grown to not only offer care through the critical access hospital but also through a retirement community, nine regional health centers, a full-service behavioral health center and a dental clinic. MDI Hospital's teaching partner- ship with Philadelphia-based Penn Medi- cine has been touted as a model for future urban-rural healthcare partnerships across the country. MDI Hospital consistently ranks among the top critical access hospitals in the nation for both clinical and quality care — it was named a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital by the National Rural Health Association and a recipient of the Outstanding Patient Experi- ence Award from Healthgrades this year. Myrtue Medical Center (Harlan, Iowa). Myrtue Medical Center is an integrated healthcare facility that includes the Harlan, Avoca, Shelby, Elk Horn and Earling medical clinics as well as behavioral and community health offerings, a wellness center and an aquatic complex. MMC was named among the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals in the U.S. by the National Rural Health Association. Addi- tionally, according to the most recent data, 92 percent of MMC patients reported on their HCAHPS survey that their physician "always" communicated well. New Ulm (Minn.) Medical Center. New Ulm Medical Center, affiliated with Minneapo- lis-based Allina Health, is a nonprofit hospital and clinic serving south central Minnesota. NUMC has been recognized nationally for its dedication to quality of patient care during the past few years. It received of Healthgrades' 2016 Outstanding Patient Experience Award and the Patient Safety Excellence Award. In 2015, it was named among iVantage Health Analytics' Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals and the National Rural Health Association's Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals. Newman Regional Health (Emporia, Kan.). Centrally located within the city of Emporia, Newman Regional Health is a 25-bed, com- munity-owned hospital that serves residents in Emporia, Chase, Morris, Greenwood, Wa- baunsee, Osage and Coffey counties. Newman Regional has received regional and national recognition for excellence in health quality and safety initiatives. It is endorsed by the High 5 for Mom & Baby program and includ- ed in the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals list by iVantage Health Analytics in 2016. Orange City (Iowa) Area Health System. Orange City Area Health System is a com- prehensive health system comprised of four family medicine clinics, a behavioral health clinic, birthing center, surgical center, home health and hospice program and an award-win- ning critical access hospital. e rural health system campus focuses on mental and physical healing, and includes a pond with a fountain, a healing garden and an open field of prairie grasses and wildflowers. is year, it was named a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by iVantage Health Analytics and received an Outstanding Patient Experience Award from Healthgrades. It won recognition in 2015 and 2016 from the Women's Choice Award as one of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience. PeaceHealth Cottage Grove (Ore.) Commu- nity Medical Center. Cottage Grove Com- munity Medical Center is part of Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth, a nonprofit Cath- olic health system that serves communities in Washington, Oregon and Alaska. In 2015, Cottage Grove ranked in the top quartile of critical access hospitals for excellence in financial strength and excellence in health outcomes, according to iVantage Health An- alytics and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health. Cottage Grove made iVantage Health Analytics' Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals list in 2016. Perry County Memorial Hospital (Perryville, Mo.). Perry County Memorial Hospital, found- ed in 1951, recently opened a 103,000-square- foot facility to better serve patients' needs. PCMH, located about 80 miles south of St. Louis, operates 20 specialty care clinics and is a committed leader in community and corporate health and wellness initiatives. PCMH was recognized among the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals in the nation by the National Rural Health Association in 2015 and 2016. Pike County Memorial Hospital (Louisiana, Mo.). Established in 1928, Pike County Me- morial Hospital provides extensive healthcare and ambulance transport services to the coun- ty, which roughly 16,500 people call home. e hospital recently underwent extensive ex- pansion and addition projects, including those for new emergency care, radiology and labora- tory departments. For the second consecutive year, PCMH was named a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by iVantage Health Analytics and a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital by the National Rural Health Association. Pikes Peak Regional Hospital (Woodland Park, Colo.). Pikes Peak Regional Hospi- tal and Surgical Center is part of Franklin, Tenn.-based IASIS Healthcare. e 15-bed critical access hospital opened its doors to Teller County residents in 2007 and features all private rooms beneath a picturesque view of Pikes Peak. In 2013, PPRH was named a HealthStrong Award winner for excellence in outcomes and excellence in patient satisfac- tion by iVantage Health Analytics. e same organization included PPRH on its Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals list this year. Providence Hood River (Ore.) Memorial Hospital. Providence Hood River, a 25-bed critical access hospital, is located about 60 miles east of Portland, Ore., in the Columbia River Gorge. e hospital received a 2016 Health- grades Outstanding Patient Experience Award and was named among the nation's Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals by iVantage Health Analytics. In addition to the national recogni- tion for both clinical care and patient experi- ence, PHRMH is one of just nine critical access hospitals with teaching programs in the nation, according the American Hospital Directory. Redington-Fairview General Hospital (Skowhegan, Maine). Redington-Fairview General Hospital has provided care as an inde- pendent community hospital in Maine since it was established in 1952. Today, it is a 25-bed critical access facility that serves nearly 30,000 residents in Somerset County. e hospital appeared on both iVantage Health Analytics' Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals list and the National Rural Health Association's list of Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals in 2015. It received a five-star rating from CMS based on its 2016 HCAHPS data. Richland Hospital (Richland Center, Wis.). Richland Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital that offers general medical and surgical care. Data from the latest year available shows the hospital accommodated 1,234 inpatient ad- missions and 5,323 emergency room visits. Rich- land Hospital earned a Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission and has been a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by iVantage Health Analytics four times, most recently in 2015. Patients also regard Richland Hospital highly, as it has earned a five-star rating from CMS in 2016 based on HCAHPS survey results.
