Psychiatrists — $250,000 3. Internal medicine physicians — $237,000 4. Hospitalists — $249,000 5. Median primary care physician compen- sation was more than $250,000 in 2015, up 4 percent from 2014. 7. Over the past five years, primary care com- pensation has increased by 18 percent. 8. Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minn.): 1,776 physicians 4. Mercy Clinic (St. Louis): 1,674 physicians 5.
