Truven named Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center to its 100 Top Hospitals list this year. Additionally, Sentara Williamsburg received an A grade from the Leapfrog Group this spring as part of the organization's Hospital Safety Scores. Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Hospital. Sherman Oaks Hospital is a nonprofit community hospital that became part of Ontario, Calif.- based Prime Healthcare in January 2006. The hospital has 153 beds, employs 700 people and has roughly 300 affiliated physicians. This year, Truven named Sherman Oaks as one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the country. Spectrum Health Zeeland (Mich.) Community Hospital. Zeeland Community Hospital, part of Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Spectrum Health, has 57 beds and a mission to improve the health of the communities it has served for more than 80 years. The hospital's team consists of more than 250 physicians, 425 employees and 120 volunteers. Zeeland Community Hospital was named one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the nation by Truven this year. St. Clair Hospital (Pittsburgh). This 328-bed independent hospital serves more than half a million residents throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. It opened its doors in 1954 and has received several awards and accolades over its history. This year, for instance, it received the Patient Safety Excellence Award and the Outstanding Patient Experience Award from Healthgrades. St. Clair Hospital has also earned straight As in the Leapfrog Group's Hospital Safety Score since 2013, most recently this spring. St. Cloud (Minn.) Hospital. St. Cloud Hospital was founded in 1886 by the Sisters of the Order of St. Benedict, but it is now part of St. Cloud-based CentraCare Health. The hospital houses 489 licensed beds, employs nearly 5,000 full- and part-time employees and has a medical staff of more than 450 physicians. Truven has named St. Cloud Hospital as one of its 100 Top Hospitals 10 times, most recently in 2015, and Healthgrades bestowed several awards on the hospital this year, including the Outstanding Patient Experience Award and the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence. St. David's Medical Center (Austin, Texas). St. David's Medical Center, part of St. David's HealthCare in Austin, has served the community since 1924. In addition to providing medical treatment to community members, St. David's Medical Center also supports the community through sponsorship and involvement with various organizations, such as Meals on Wheels, the Ronald McDonald House and United Way. For the seventh consecutive year in 2016, St. David's Medical Center was named one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals by Truven. St. Luke's Quakertown Campus (Pa.). Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Health Network acquired the hospital, formerly Quakertown Community Hospital, in 1995 and subsequently invested more than $60 million in it. Now, the hospital boasts more than 275 physicians who cover 40 specialties. This year, Truven named St. Luke's Quakertown Campus as one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the nation. Sycamore Medical Center (Miamisburg, Ohio). Part of Kettering (Ohio) Health Network, Sycamore Medical Center is one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the nation this year, according to Truven, marking the seventh time the hospital has earned a place on the list. In January, the hospital celebrated the completion of its $9 million third-floor expansion, which added 32 new private rooms. Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton (Ga.). Clocking in at 201 beds, this acute care hospital serves the residents of west Georgia and east Alabama. The Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton campus includes the Tanner Heart and Vascular Center, the W. Steve Worthy Maternity Center, the Roy Richards, Sr. Cancer Center and 1.5 miles of walking paths, among other features. The hospital's emergency department was newly built in 2013. iVantage named Tanner Medical Center/ Carrollton as one of its Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital this year. Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth (Texas). This hospital opened in 1987 to serve the communities of Fort Worth, Benbrook, Crowley, Aledo and Granbury. Truven recognized Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth as one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the nation this year, and also named it one of 17 Everest Award winners, recognizing it for greatest rate of improvement over five years. In May, the hospital opened its new professional building, which features an outpatient surgery center and endoscopy center as well as a parking garage. Timpanogos Regional Hospital (Orem, Utah). Timpanogos Regional Hospital, a 122-bed hospital part of Cottonwood Heights, Utah-based MountainStar Healthcare, has served its community since 1998. Its medical staff of more than 200 physicians sees more than 4,500 inpatient admissions and performs more than 3,000 surgeries annually. Truven named Timpanogos one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the nation for 2016. University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center (Ashland, Ohio). Part of Cleveland-based University Hospitals, this 55-bed hospital is based between Cleveland and Columbus, two of Ohio's largest cities. The hospital, previously known as Samaritan Regional Health System, was given to the City of Ashland in 1912 by two local philanthropists who were inspired by the biblical story of the Good Samaritan. This year, iVantage named UH Samaritan Medical Center to its Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital list. UPMC Bedford Memorial (Everett, Pa.). Part of Pittsburgh-based UPMC, this 27-bed community hospital is one of the 2016 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals, as named by iVantage. It has received the America's 100 Best Hospitals for Prostate Surgery Award from Healthgrades for three years straight, most recently in 2016. Valley View Hospital (Glenwood Springs, Colo.). Valley View Hospital has been a Planetree Designated Patient-Centered Hospital since 2007, meaning the community hospital has embraced and implemented patient- and resident-centered care in a comprehensive manner. iVantage named Valley View as a Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital this year, and Healthgrades gave the hospital its Coronary Intervention Excellence Award in 2016 as well. Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital. Part of Chambersburg, Pa.-based Summit Health, Waynesboro Hospital was established in 1992 by volunteers in response to the Spanish flu. It has undergone several expansions, and as of 2013, the hospital houses 56 beds, staffs 175 physicians and employs 500 people. It has earned several recognitions of excellence, including being named an iVantage Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital and a Truven 100 Top Hospital, both in 2016. WellStar West Georgia Medical Center (LaGrange). West Georgia Health officially became WellStar West Georgia Medical Center in April. It originally opened in 1937 as City-County Hospital with 65 beds. Now, the hospital has grown and was named one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the nation this year by Truven.
