Knoxville, Tenn.-based Covenant Health made several leadership appointments following the former CEO's transition to CEO emeritus. Jim VanderSteeg is the new president and CEO of Covenant Health. Mike Belbeck has been named executive vice president of operations. Luke Johnson has been named an executive vice president. Jeremy Biggs succeeds Mr. Belbeck as president and chief administrative officer of Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tenn. David Bunch has been named president and chief administrative officer at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, Tenn. Rockdale Medical Center in Conyers, Ga., named Blake Watts COO. Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare named Robert W. K. Webb senior vice president and chief human resources officer. Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network named Robert White, MD, CMIO, effective in May. Hospital and Health System Transactions Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health agreed to acquire three rural clinics from now- shuttered Colusa (Calif.) Regional Medical Center. Allegiance Health in Jackson, Mich., joined Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System and introduced its new name — Henry Ford Allegiance Health. Alpena (Mich.) Regional Medical Center joined Midland-based MidMichigan Health as the fih hospital in the system. New details were released about a proposed affiliation between Athens (Ga.) Regional Health System and Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare. Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System completed its acquisition of Hackettstown (N.J.) Regional Medical Center. Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., joined the East Florida Region of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System. Providence, R.I.-based Care New England Health System and New Bedford, Mass.- based Southcoast Health System plan to join together under a new corporate entity. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems acquired an 80 percent ownership interest in Physicians' Specialty Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark. Community Health Systems also completed its previously announced spinoff of Quorum Health Corp., which includes 38 hospitals across 16 states as well as CHS' hospital management and consulting business. Eastern Niagara Health System in Lockport, N.Y., and Buffalo, N.Y.-based Kaleida Health inked an affiliation agreement, which will allow the systems to work together on physician recruitment, clinical education, supply chain and IT enhancement. Elliot Health System, a single-hospital system in Manchester, N.H., put out a request for acquisition proposals and Nashville, Tenn.- based Hospital Corporation of America and Burlington, Mass.-based Lahey Health were chosen as bidding finalists. Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services and health insurer UCare signed a letter of intent to combine their operations. Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, La., and New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System formed a long-term partnership. Greenville (Ill.) Regional Hospital joined Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System to become HSHS Holy Family Hospital in Greenville. Jameson Health System, a single hospital system in New Castle, Pa., merged with Pittsburgh-based UPMC and changed its name to UPMC Jameson. Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente is one step closer to taking over three hospitals from Hawaii Health Systems Corp., a state- funded hospital network based in Honolulu. Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital will acquire Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, N.H. Methodist Health System in Dallas reached a deal to buy the bankrupt Forest Park Medical Center in Southlake, Texas, for $17.6 million. North Valley Hospital in Whitefish, Mont., will become an affiliate under the Kalispell (Mont.) Regional Healthcare system. Chicago-based Northwestern Memorial HealthCare and Crystal Lake, Ill.-based Centegra Health System signed a letter of intent to explore an affiliation. Physicians Realty Trust, a self-managed healthcare properties REIT, is looking to boost its portfolio with the addition of 52 medical office facilities owned by Englewood, Colo.- based based Catholic Health Initiatives. Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District in Brawley, Calif., is became an affiliate of San Diego-based Scripps Health. Aer three years, Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services was given final approval to acquire Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, N.J. Brentwood, Tenn.-based RegionalCare Hospital Partners and Franklin, Tenn.- based Capella Healthcare merged to create a combined company with 18 hospital campuses in 12 states. Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health bought Sanford Tracy Medical Center from the city of Tracy, Minn. Pottsville, Pa.-based Schuylkill Health System and Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network signed a definitive agreement to merge. Susquehanna Health in Williamsport, Pa., and Pittsburgh-based UPMC signed a letter of intent to pursue an affiliation agreement. Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare sold its five Atlanta-area hospitals and 26 physician clinics to Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Health System for $575 million in cash. Tyler, Texas-based Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics and Irving, Texas- based CHRISTUS Health finalized a merger agreement, creating CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System. King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services agreed to purchase the minority ownership interests held by a third-party in its six Nevada hospitals for $445 million. Burlington-based University of Vermont Health Network acquired Green Mountain Orthopedic Surgery in Berlin, Vt.
