Dr. Lockhart was named CMO of Sutter Health in January 2015 aer serving as CMO for the system's East Bay Region. His prior positions include medical administrative director of sur- gical services, chief administrative officer and vice president of Sutter Health's St. Luke's Hos- pital in San Francisco, and medical director of surgical services for Sutter Health's California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. J. Richard Ludgin, MD, JD. Vice Pres- ident of Medical Affairs and CMO of Aurora BayCare Clinic (Green Bay, Wis.). Prior to joining BayCare Clinic as CMO in April 2015, Dr. Ludgin was CMO of Aurora BayCare Medical Center. He is a lawyer and former consultant with Navigant Con- sulting and the Bard Group. Dr. Ludgin has held a variety of academic medical center and community hospital administrative positions. John Lynch, MD. Vice President and CMO of Barnes-Jewish Hospital (St. Louis). Dr. Lynch has been on staff at Barnes-Jewish Hospital since 1995 and was named CMO in 2009. Additionally, he is a faculty member of the Washington University School of Medicine and a fellow of the Amer- ican College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Lynch is board certified in internal medicine, pulmo- nary medicine and critical care medicine. G. Daniel Martich, MD. CMO of West Virginia United Health System (Mor- gantown). In addition to being CMO of West Virginia United Health System, a role he began in June 2015, Dr. Martich holds a faculty appointment with the West Virginia University School of Medicine's department of medicine. Before joining six-hospital WVU Health System, he was vice president for physician services and CMIO of UPMC. Susan Melvin, DO. CMO of Long Beach (Calif.) Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Melvin was named CMO of Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in 2012. She served as president and CEO of the system from 1998 until 2011, when she became associate CMO. Additionally, Dr. Melvin has served on the system's board of directors, chaired its physician society and currently is a clinical professor at the University of California Irvine College of Medicine and the Western Univer- sity of Health Sciences' department of family medicine in Ponoma, Calif. Edward J. Merrens, MD. Executive Medical Director of Systems Integra- tion and CMO of Dartmouth-Hitchcock (Lebanon, N.H.). Dr. Merrens has been with Dartmouth-Hitchcock since 1998, when he joined the system as a primary care internist. He has since served as medical director of medical subspecialties and established the section of hospital medicine in Dartmouth's department of medicine. He has served as director of inpatient services since 2010 and served on the system's board of trustees from 2006 to 2012. Redonda G. Miller, MD. Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs for Johns Hopkins Medicine and CMO of Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore). Dr. Miller became CMO of Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2009 and senior vice president of medical af- fairs for Johns Hopkins Medicine in 2016. She also serves as chair of the Council on Clinical and Quality Issues, is an associate professor of medicine in the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and is on the executive board for the Maryland Hospital Association. Thomas Miller, MD. CMO of University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics (Salt Lake City). In addition to his current role as CMO of the University of Utah Hospitals & Clinics, Dr. Miller holds a faculty appointment in the University of Utah School of Medicine and is a practicing and teaching clinician in the sys- tem's division of general medicine. Dr. Miller completed his residency and chief residency at the University of Utah in 1992. He is board certified in internal medicine. David Moorhead, MD. Senior Vice President and CMO of Florida Hospital (Orlando). Prior to joining Florida Hospital in 2006, Dr. Moorhead was CEO of Loma Lin- da (Calif.) University Medical Center, where he helped establish the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. He also served as execu- tive director of medical and clinical operations for King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Moorhead is a member of the American College of Physician Executives, the American Medical Association and the American Urology Association. Arby Nahapetian, MD. Vice President of Medical Affairs and Quality and CMO of Glendale Adventist Medical Center (Burbank, Calif.). In addition to serving as vice president of medical affairs and quality and CMO of Glendale Adventist Medi- cal Center, Dr. Nahapetian is a clinical instruc- tor at the University of California Los Angeles school of medicine and the Ronald Reagan Medical Center. Prior to joining Glendale, Dr. Nahapetian established the Arrhythmia Center of Excellence at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Glendale, Calif., and the Electrophysiology Laboratory at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia, Calif. William Neff, MD. CMO of University of Colorado Health (Aurora, Colo.). Dr. Neff was interim president and CEO of UCHealth before being appointed CMO of the system. His previous roles include CMO of the Poudre Valley Health System in Fort Collins, Colo., and assistant professor of anesthesiolo- gy at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, where he also served as co-medical director of surgical intensive care. Dr. Neff is a member of the American College of Physician Executives and the Colorado Society of Anesthesiologists. Scott Nygaard, MD. Chief Medical Officer for Physician Services of Lee Memorial Health System (Fort Myers, Fla.). Dr. Nygaard joined Lee Memorial Health System in September 2010. At Lee Memorial, Dr. Nygaard oversees operations of Lee Physician Group, a 400-provider multispe- cialty group practice, as well as hospital-con- tracted physician groups and ambulatory and continuum of care services. Previously, he was senior vice president for corporate services at Wichita, Kan.-based Via Christi Health. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Nygaard earned an MBA from the University of St. omas in Minneapolis. Patrick M. O'Shaughnessy, DO. Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs and CMO of Catholic Health Services (Rockville Centre, N.Y.). Dr. O'Shaugh- nessy joined Catholic Health Services in 2006 as assistant director of emergency medicine for St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, N.Y. He then was named director of emergency medicine of St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smith- town, N.Y., and CMO of Smithtown (N.Y.) Hospital before being appointed system CMO in 2013. He has held faculty appointments with Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey and Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, among others. Thomas Owens, MD. Vice President for Medical Affairs and CMO of Duke Uni- versity Health System (Durham, N.C.). Before being named to his current position, Dr. Owens held a number of medical leader- ship positions with Duke University Health System, including chief of the system's hospital medicine program, co-director of the internal medicine and pediatrics residency programs and CMO of Duke University Hospital. He also serves as associate professor of medicine and pediatrics at the Duke University School of Medicine. Paryus Patel, MD. CMO of Prime Healthcare (Ontario, Calif.). In addition to being named system CMO in 2013, Dr. Patel also serves as director of Prime Healthcare's cardiovascular intensive care unit, a mem- ber of its medical executive committee and chairman of clinical quality and performance.
