Spine surgeons Troy Caron, DO, Raj Kakarlapudi, MD, and Jeff Martin, MD, joined Laser Spine Institute. Dr. Caron will treat patients at all seven locations; Dr. Kakar- lapudi will see patients at the Cincinnati center; Dr. Martin will treat patients at all seven facilities. Neurosurgeon Alastair T. Hoyt, MD, joined Cabell Hun- tington Hospital in West Virginia. Saint Francis Medical Center and Cape Spine & Neurosur- gery welcomed neurosurgeon Kaywan Gamadia, DO. UC Irvine department of orthopedic surgery welcomed Yu-Po Lee, MD, aer he finished a spine fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. Arien Smith, MD, joined NYC Surgical Associates, which implemented new specialty services in spine and neurosur- gery. Andrew Chi, MD, was named the co-director and neu- ro-oncology chief at NYU Langone Brain Tumor Center. NYU Langone welcomed R. Shay Bess, MD, as head of adult spinal deformity. Mohammad Shukairy, MD, a minimally invasive spine surgeon, joined Midwest Orthopaedic Institute in Illinois. Neurosurgeon John Spitalieri, DO, opened North Caroli- na Neurosurgery and Spine Clinic. Neurosurgeon Graham C. Hall, MD, joined Baptist Health Paducah (Ky.). Fredericksburg Orthopaedic Associates in Virginia wel- comed Aaron J. Greenberg, MD, aer finishing a spine fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta. Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis appointed Munish Gupta, MD, chief of spine surgery, a position he'll assume on Sept. 1. Dr. Gupta is currently the vice chair of the department of orthopedic surgery and chief of orthopedic spine surgery and co-director of the spine center at the University of California, Davis. Washington, D.C.-based George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, GW Hospital and e GW Medical Faculty Associates appointed Raj Rao, MD, the department of orthopedic surgery chair. He currently serves as the vice chairman of the department of orthopedic surgery at Medical College of Wisconsin. e B.A.C.K. Center founder Richard Hynes, MD, and his colleagues at the practice joined First Choice Health Solu- tions in Florida. He will serve as medical director. Texas Children's Hospital in Houston named John Dor- mans, MD, the new chief of orthopedics. He previously served as chief of orthopedic surgery at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and president of the medical staff and pres- ident of Children's Surgical Associates. Mount Sinai Health System and Mount Sinai Hospital named Andrew Hecht, MD, chief of spine surgery. He will continue as director of the Mount Sinai Spine Center of Mount Sinai Doctors director. Spine specialist Kerry Bernardo, MD, joined Southern Bone and Joint Specialists in Hattiesburg, Miss. Canonsburg Hospital, part of Allegheny Health Network, welcomed neurosurgeon Nestor Tomycz, MD, to the med- ical staff. He has a special interest in deep brain stimula- tion, chronic pain, brain and spine trauma and epilepsy. Tampa, Fla.-based Laser Spine Institute welcomed Reg- inald Davis, MD, to the physician group. Dr. Davis will serve patients at all seven Laser Spine Institute locations across the United States.
