Greenville, S.C.-based Bon Secours St. Francis
Health System announced the acquisition of four
AFC Doctors Express Urgent Care locations in
Greenville County.
Franklin, Tenn.-based Capella Healthcare signed
letters of intent to acquire Pasco, Wash.-based
Lourdes Health Network and St. Joseph Region-
al Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho, which are
both currently part of St. Louis-based Ascension.
e board of trustees of Eastern Long Island
Hospital in Greenport, N.Y., voted to affiliate
with Stony Brook (N.Y.) University Hospital.
Good Samaritan Health System in Lebanon, Pa., fi-
nalized its partnership with WellSpan Health, based
in York, Pa., aer nearly a year of due diligence.
Ingalls Health System, a single-hospital system
located in Harvey, Ill., is exploring partnership
options to give it more clout when negotiating
with payers.
Utah-based Intermountain Healthcare acquired
the St. Louis-based group purchasing organiza-
tion Amerinet.
New Castle, Pa.-based Jameson Health System
is still hopeful a formally approved agreement to
merge into the Pittsburgh-based UPMC network
will come to fruition, even aer months-long de-
lays to close the deal.
South Miami-based Larkin Community Hospi-
tal acquired Hollywood Pavilion Hospital and
Hollywood Hills Nursing Home (Hollywood,
Fla.) in a bankruptcy auction.
Mercy Medical Center-Des Moines completed its
acquisition of Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa.
Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Cen-
ter in Lewiston, N.Y., joined Buffalo, NY.-based
Catholic Health System, a joint venture between
St. Louis-based Ascension, Livonia, Mich.-based
Trinity Health and the Diocese of Buffalo.
Great Neck, N.Y.-based North Shore-LIJ Health
System is looking to complete its merger with
Riverhead, N.Y.-based Peconic Bay Medical
Center by January 2016.
e New Jersey Superior Court approved On-
tario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services'
Community Health Care Protection Act appli-
cation, allowing the for-profit hospital operator
to acquire Saint Clare's Health System, a three-
hospital system based in Denville, N.J.
Los Angeles-based Prospect Medical Holdings
is in the process of acquiring Waterbury (Conn.)
Hospital, and the for-profit system announced
plans to acquire Rockville General in Vernon,
Conn., and Manchester (Conn.) Memorial.
Rockville General and Manchester Memorial
are both part of Eastern Connecticut Health Net-
work. Tenet Healthcare called off a deal to ac-
quire the three hospitals, along with two others in
Connecticut, last year.
Robert Wood Johnson Health System, which has
flagship hospital campuses in New Brunswick, N.J.,
and Somerset, N.J., and Barnabas Health, based in
Orange, N.J., signed a definitive agreement to merge,
creating the largest health system in the state.
Reading, Pa.-based St. Joseph Regional Health
Network, previously an affiliate of Engle-
wood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives,
joined Penn State Health, a nonprofit organiza-
tion based in Hershey.
St. Joseph's Health, a nonprofit system based in
Syracuse, N.Y., joined Livonia, Mich.-based Trin-
ity Health.
Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, San Francisco-
based Dignity Health and St. Louis-based As-
cension signed a definitive agreement to create
a partnership to own and operate Carondelet
Health Network based in Tucson, Ariz. Tenet
Healthcare also signed a definitive agreement
with Birmingham, Ala.-based Baptist Health
System to create a joint venture that will operate
a healthcare network serving Birmingham and
Central Alabama.
Ventas — a real estate investment trust — reached
a deal with Equity Group Investments, giving EQI
a majority ownership of the hospital operations
of Nashville, Tenn.-based Ardent Health Services,
which Ventas agreed to buy earlier this year.
Washington (Pa.) Health System complet-
ed its previously announced acquisition of South-
west Regional Medical Center in Waynesburg,
Pa., from Brentwood, Tenn.-based RegionalCare
Hospital Partners.
Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health System entered
into a definitive agreement to affiliate with L+M
Healthcare, the parent organization of Lawrence
+ Memorial Hospital in New London, Conn.,
and Westerly (R.I.) Hospital. New Haven,
Conn.-based Yale-New Haven Hospital, part of
Yale New Haven Health System, also partnered
with Milford (Conn.) Hospital to open the Yale-
New Haven Hospital Rehabilitation and Wellness
Center at Milford Hospital.
