Healthcare marketing research firm SK&A con- ducted extensive research of the 602 identified ACOs in the U.S., including Medicare Shared Savings Program ACOs, Pioneer ACOs, Medicare and non-Medicare commercial ACOs, and Med- icaid ACOs. The only specialty that experienced a drop in 2014 salary compared to 2013 salary was general surgery, which fell 1.1 percent. In contrast, the specialties that grew the most were neurology (6.7 percent), emer- gency medicine (6.6 percent), cardiology (5.2 percent) and pediatrics (4.2 percent).
