64 Revenue Cycle T he Healthcare Financial Management As- sociation recently announced the 2015 winners of the MAP Award for High Per- formance in Revenue Cycle. The award is given to healthcare providers "that have excelled in meeting industry standard reve- nue cycle benchmarks (MAP Keys), implemented the patient-centered recommendations and best practices embodied in HFMA's Healthcare Dol- lars & Sense initiatives, and achieved outstanding patient satisfaction," according to HFMA. Here are the seven hospital systems and seven in- dividual hospitals that received this recognition. "Revenue cycle management and integrated EHR vendor loyalty among small practice EHR physician practices is still on a significant upward trajectory," said Doug Brown, Black Book's managing partner. "The EHR/practice billing vendor's abilities to meet the evolving demands of interoperability, network- ing, mobile devices, accountable care, patient accessibility, customization for specialty workflow and reimbursement are the main factors that the replace- ment mentality and late adoption remain volatile, especially among solo and small practices." The report named the top EHR, practice management and revenue cycle management firms including: • ADP AdvancedMD • athenahealth • Greenway Health • HealthFusion • McKesson • Nextech n Premier Launches System to Track Financial Impact of Value-Based Care By Carrie Pallardy P remier, based in Charlotte, N.C., has launched the Premier Quality Cycle Management system, a software-as-a-service analytics platform. The Quality Cycle Management system is designed to help health- care providers predict reimbursement from federal programs bas- ing payment on clinical outcomes. "Under the multiple federal payment programs that measure healthcare provider performance, integrated health systems are challenged with fully understanding the financial impact and driv- ers of clinical outcomes across all of their acute-care facilities, phy- sician groups and post-acute care facilities," said Liz Martin, vice president of quality, at Riverside Health System, which recently began using Premier Quality Cycle Management. The system measures reimbursement from CMS' Hospital Value-Based Purchasing program and is in the process of add- ing Readmissions and Hospital-Acquired Condition Reduction programs. n
