Here are four things to know about the project. 1. The hospital hopes to open the Center for Surgical & Interventional Medicine. The project is expected to cost $19.4 million. 2. The new center would be 25,000 square feet and include specialties such as cardiology, radiology, vascular surgery and cardiothoracic surgery, according to the report. 3. Antonio Civitella, a hospital board member, introduced the idea of crowdfunding. He serves as the CEO of Transfinder, which offers sup- port for school bus routing and scheduling, according to the report. 4. The crowdfunding effort is being run through the site Fundabilities. Transfinder intends to match the first $5,000 in donations, according to the report. n North Hills Surgery Center Begins Price Transparency: 4 Quick Notes By Carrie Pallardy N orth Hills Surgery Center in Fayetteville, Ark., has started to offer price transparency for cash pay patients, according to an Arkansas Business report. Here are four things to know the surgery center and this strategic move. 1. The surgery center lists cash pay prices for a number of ENT, orthopedics, general surgery and endoscopy procedures on its website. 2. The prices listed on the website include consultation through follow-up care, but exclude the cost of any implants, according to the report. 3. General surgeon Jeffrey Bell, MD, is the medical director of the surgery center. 4. North Hills Surgery Center, one of the first freestanding ASCs in Arkansas, also offers gynecology, urology, colorectal and pain management procedures. n H ere are 10 new outpatient surgery centers announced or opened within the last few months. 1. The Orthopaedic Institute for Children Am- bulatory Surgery Center in Los Angeles had a groundbreaking last month. The ASC is 13,000 square feet and expected to cost $10 million. 2. Doctors Hospital of Manteca (Calif.) and Tenet Healthcare broke ground on a new out- patient surgery center, with Tenet investing $7 million. The center will include three operating rooms and two procedure rooms. 3. The new outpatient surgery center at Well- Star East Cobb Health Park will likely open June 6. 4. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia opened its Specialty Care and Ambulatory Surgery Center in King of Prussia, Pa. The new center has four floors and the capacity to expand up to 195,000 square feet. 5. Gramercy Surgery Center in New York opened a new satellite location in Queens, N.Y. The new 11,000-square-foot facility has four operating rooms and is expected to have a $20 million impact on the community. 6. Montefiore Health System in Bronx, N.Y., opened a new eye surgery center at its West- chester Square Campus. The facility has five operating rooms. 7. Bergenfield (N.J.) Surgical Center celebrated its grand opening last month. The ASC in- cludes orthopedic surgery, podiatry, pain man- agement, gynecology and pain management. 8. Fromer Eye Center, led by Medical Director Mark Fromer, MD, opened in Bronx, N.Y. The surgery center offers retinal surgery, cataract surgery, glaucoma care and emergency care. 9. Nameer Haider, MD, a spine- and pain-fo- cused physician, plans to open the Omni Sur- gical Center in South Utica, N.Y. The ASC is expected to open in October. 10. Daniel Lieberman, MD, founded Phoe- nix Spine Surgery Center in Goodyear, Ariz., with three clinical exam rooms and two surgi- cal suites.
