Paul Staton. CFO of UCLA Health System (Los Angeles). Mr. Staton has been with UCLA since 1996 and has roughly 30 years of healthcare experi- ence. After becoming interim CFO of UCLA Health in March 2004, he became the system's permanent CFO in March 2005. Mr. Staton, a certified public accountant, has worked for several healthcare orga- nizations in Southern California. Alan Strauss. Senior Vice President and CFO of Seton Healthcare Family (Austin, Texas). Mr. Strauss joined Seton Healthcare Family, a faith- based nonprofit healthcare system with four teach- ing hospitals, in November 2014. He was previously CFO of Carondelet Health Network in Tucson, Ariz., and has more than 35 years of experience in Catholic-sponsored healthcare finance. Mr. Strauss is a certified public accountant and earned a mas- ter's in healthcare administration from University Saint Jolliet II. Lance Sewell. CFO of South Lake Hospital (Cler- mont, Fla.). Mr. Sewell is in charge of finances at South Lake Hospital, which is a 122-bed nonprofit organization in partnership with Orlando Health. He has been CFO of the hospital since 2007, and previously served as its director of finance. He is a certified public accountant. J. Dean Swindle. President of Enterprise Busi- ness Lines and CFO of Catholic Health Initia- tives (Englewood, Colo.). Mr. Swindle has been with CHI since 2010, and he oversees its financial strategy and planning as well as business lines like revenue cycle and supply chains, among others. Before joining CHI, he held several positions in the more than 11 years he spent at Novant Health System in Winston-Salem, N.C., including CFO. Mr. Swindle earned an MBA from Duke Univer- sity's Fuqua School of Business and is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Ac- countants. Michael Szubski. CFO of University Hospitals (Cleveland). Mr. Szubski became CFO of Univer- sity Hospitals in 2008. He originally joined Univer- sity Hospitals in 2003 as CFO of UH Case Medical Center and later served as COO of UH's acute-care hospitals. Mr. Szubski also gained experience as ex- ecutive vice president and CFO of EMH Healthcare, a system in Elyria, Ohio, and as vice president of op- erations at UnitedHealthcare of Ohio. Jeff Taylor. Senior Vice President and CFO of St. Luke's Health System (Boise, Idaho). Mr. Taylor has served as senior vice president and CFO of nonprofit St. Luke's Health System since 2008. Pre- viously, he was the controller of St. Luke's from 1994 to 2008. He also gained experience at Ernst & Whinney and Deloitte. Mr. Taylor is a certified public accountant. Karen Testman, RN. CFO of MemorialCare Health System (Fountain Valley, Calif.). Ms. Test- man is CFO of MemorialCare, a $2.2 billion non- profit, six-hospital system. She started her career as a registered nurse. Ms. Testman joined Memo- rialCare in 1998, serving as CFO of two hospitals and as senior vice president of financial operations before becoming CFO. Ms. Testman is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Associa- tion. Thomas Todorow. Executive Vice President and CFO of Children's Hospital of Philadel- phia. Mr. Todorow became CFO of CHOP in June 2001 after serving as senior vice president and CFO of Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare. While at Harvard Pilgrim, Mr. Todorow oversaw a sig- nificant financial turnaround. He also previously held positions at JP Morgan, Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia and Coopers & Lybrand, which merged into PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Todorow earned an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania. Kanner Tillman, PhD. CFO of Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Hospital & Encino Hospital Medical Cen- ter. Dr. Tillman has held various roles in the health- care industry at both for-profit and nonprofit hos- pitals, integrated health systems and HMOs. He is currently CFO of two hospitals that are owned by Ontario, Calif.-based for-profit Prime Healthcare Services. Dr. Tillman earned his PhD in political science with a concentration in public policy and healthcare from Claremont Graduate University and also holds an MBA from California State Uni- versity, Fullerton. Lannie Tonnu. Senior Vice President of Finance and CFO of Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Ms. Tonnu has held her current role as senior vice president of finance and CFO of Children's Hos- pital Los Angeles since 1991. She was previously with Ernst & Young, where she was an audit senior manager in the healthcare practice in Los Angeles. She holds an MBA from California State Univer- sity, Los Angeles and is an adjunct faculty member of the Sol Price School of Public Policy at USC. Ms. Tonnu is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Healthcare Financial Management Association and has served as treasurer of the California Children's Hospital Association. Michael Tretina. Senior Vice President and CFO of Bayhealth (Dover, Del.). Mr. Tretina was named to his current position with Bayhealth in December 2013. He was previously vice presi- dent and CFO of Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. He has about 30 years of experi- ence in healthcare finance with expertise in areas like reimbursement, patient financial services and health information management.
