Health spending is projected to grow at an average rate of 5.7 percent for 2013 to 2023 2. Average annual projected growth of 6 percent per year is expected for 2015 through 2023. 3. The number of uninsured people is expected to decline from 45 million people in 2012 to 23 million people by 2023. 4. By 2023, health expenditures financed by federal, state and local governments are projected to account for 48 percent of national health spending. 5. Health spending is projected to be 19.3 percent of GDP by 2023, up from 17.2 percent in 2012. n SCA Closes Secondary Public Offering of Common Stock By Carrie Pallardy Surgical Care Affiliates closed its underwritten public offering of 7 million shares of common stock. The stocks were sold at $33.25 per share. The underwriters fully exercised the option to purchase an additional 1.05 million shares of common stock, resulting in a total offering of 8.05 million shares of common stock. SCA did not sell any shares and did not receive any proceeds from the sale of the common stock. Due to the sale of shares TPG Global now owns less than 50 percent of the company's outstand- ing shares of common stock.
