The 15,500-square-foot, multispecialty surgery center received American Association of Accreditation for Ambulatory Surgical Facilities accreditation and all state regulatory approvals. The center has five operating rooms and one procedure room. The ASC offers bariatric surgery, vascular surgery, gastroenterology, general surgery, urology, pain management, orthopedic surgery, oral surgery and podiatry services. David Greuner, MD, a cardiovascular surgeon and founding partner of the center, is the CMO of Centers for Special Surgery. Adam Tonis, DC, serves as the COO of Centers for Special Sur- gery. n Surgery Partners Acquires ASC, Practices By Carrie Pallardy S urgery Partners has acquired a share in a Delaware sur- gery center and two physician practices. Surgery Partners acquired a majority interest in Dela- ware Outpatient Center for Surgery in Newark. The multispecial- ty center has been open since 2005 and has 30 physician part- ners. More than 50 physicians perform procedures at the center. "We are excited for DOCS to join our team of ASCs providing best-in-class surgical solutions to patients. The addition of their skilled physicians and talented staff only further bolster our com- mitment to outstanding patient care," said Surgery Partners CEO Mike Doyle. Surgery Partners acquired two physician practices in December 2014. The company has been actively acquiring since last year. Sur- gery Partners acquired Symbion in November 2014, shortly before the physician practice and DOCS acquisitions. The com- pany's network now includes more than 100 ASCs and 2,400 physicians. n
