Please call 800-417-2035 to register. 62 Birmingham, Ala.-based Baptist Health System signed an exclusive, non-binding letter of intent to form a jointly owned company with 645-bed Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, a subsidiary of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare. Beaufort (S.C.) Memorial Hospital purchased the Surgery Center of Beaufort, allowing it to ex- pand its outpatient surgical services. Bon Secours Virginia Health System in Rich- mond finalized its acquisition of Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock, Va. Boston Medical Center, the largest safety net hos- pital in Massachusetts, and Tufts Medical Center in Boston confirmed they are discussing a merger. Franklin, Tenn.-based Capella Healthcare ac- quired 116-bed Carolina Pines Regional Medi- cal Center in Hartsville, S.C. from subsidiaries of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems. Rochester Hills, Mich.-based Crittenton Hospital Medical Center signed a letter of intent to join St. Louis-based Ascension Health. Good Samaritan Health System in Lebanon, Pa., signed an affiliation agreement to join nonprofit WellSpan Health, based in York, Pa. HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley, an inte- grated health system, is looking at a corporate alliance with Valhalla, N.Y.-based Westchester Medical Center. As of Jan. 7, a deal had not been finalized. Westchester Medical Center and Suffern, N.Y.-based Bon Secours Charity Health System also began joint venture discus- sions. The merger between Janesville, Wis.-based Mercy Health System and Rockford (Ill.) Health System was approved, creating a regional health system that will provide healthcare services to patients in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Mercy Memorial Hospital System in Monroe, Mich., joined Toledo, Ohio-based ProMedica and changed its name to ProMedica Monroe Region- al Hospital. Montefiore Health System, based in Bronx, N.Y., has added White Plains (N.Y.) Hospital to its network upon receiving approval form the New York State Health Commissioner. The regulatory approval process for the partnership has been on- going since February 2013 New York State Health Department officials ap- proved plans for 175-bed Mount St. Mary's Hos- pital and Health Center in Lewiston, N.Y., to be- come a full member of Catholic Health. Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, N.Y., is set to join North Shore-Long Island Jew- ish Health System in Manhasset, N.Y., under an agreement signed by both organizations. Board members of Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, N.C. voted to enter into exclu- sive partnership negotiations with CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern, N.C., and Vidant Health in Greenville, N.C. Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services completed its acquisition of 177-bed North Vista Hospital in North Las Vegas, Nev. California Attorney General Kamala Harris has until Feb. 20 to decide whether Daughters of Charity Health System — a six-hospital network based in Los Altos Hills, Calif. — should be sold to Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services. Runnells Specialized Hospital, a 102-year-old facil- ity in Berkeley Heights, N.J., was sold to Center Man- agement Group in Flushing, N.Y., for $26 million. Atlanta-based SunLink Health Systems complet- ed the sale of assets of its 49-bed Callaway Com- munity Hospital based in Fulton, Mo. Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health signed a de- finitive agreement to acquire Saint Francis Care, a three-hospital system based in Hartford, Conn. Day-to-day operations of Tucson-based Univer- sity of Arizona Health were signed over to Phoe- nix-based nonprofit Banner Health. Augusta, Ga.-based nonprofit University Hospi- tal began managing the Sandersville, Ga.-based Washington County Regional Medical Center on Jan. 1.
