Florida BayCare Surgery Center, formerly Trinity Surgery Center, held a ribbon cutting ceremony on its new 15,000-square-foot facility in New Port Richey, Fla. Ara Deukmedjian, MD, opened the Surgery Cen- ter of Viera in Melbourne, Fla. Tampa, Fla.-based Laser Spine Institute opened cen- ters in Cleveland, St. Louis and Cincinnati. Washington Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle opened its new 10-operating room surgery center. Providence Health Care announced plans for a new outpatient surgery center and medical clinic in Spokane Valley, Wash. Connecticut Bradley Hospital, a campus of the Hospital of Cen- tral Connecticut in New Britain, opened a new ambulatory surgery center in Southington, Conn. Somers, N.Y.-based Merritt Healthcare opened its Western Connecticut Orthopedic Surgical Center in Danbury, Conn. Texas Pain Specialists of Austin opened another surgery center, the Ambulatory Surgery Center of Killeen (Texas). Texas Fertility Center announced the opening of its new embryology lab for in vitro fertilization and fertility surgery center in San Antonio. Williamson Surgery Center opened in Round Rock, Texas. Illinois Chicago-based Northwestern Memorial Hospi- tal opened a 25-story outpatient surgery center downtown. As part of a $172 million renovation project, St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill., opened a new surgery center. Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill., opened its $202 million outpatient facility. Kansas Pittsburg, Kan.-based Via Christi Hospital dedi- cated its new ambulatory surgery center and be- gan surgeries. Nevada Desert Institute of Spine Care in Las Vegas ex- panded with the opening of a new 5,000-square- foot ambulatory surgery center. New York New York-based Montefiore Medical Center has opened a $152 million, 12-story surgery center built to serve around 300,000 patients annually. Frontier Healthcare Holdings and Brookhaven Gastroenterology Associates have partnered to open a GI-driven ambulatory surgery center in Suffolk County, N.Y. University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medicine opened an ambulatory surgery center and Strong West Emer- gency in Brockport, N.Y. Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, N.Y., opened its minimally invasive women's health surgery center. Eastern Niagara Hospital opened its 13,500-square- foot surgery center in Lockport, N.Y. Louisiana Lafayette General Health opened a new ambula- tory surgery center within its Lafayette (La.) Gen- eral Surgical Hospital. Pennsylvania The Lebanon (Pa.) VA Medical Center held an open house for its new ASC in Lebanon Township. Lehigh Valley Health Network opened LVHN Surgical Center, an outpatient orthopedic surgery center, at the former Westfield Hospital in South Whitehall Township, Pa. Washington Health System opened its two-story, 50,000-square-foot outpatient surgery center in South Strabane Township, Pa. North Carolina Southeastern Health Park has held an open house at its newly opened surgery center in Lumberton, N.C. A group of 20 OrthoCarolina physicians opened the $4.9 million Mallard Creek Surgery Center in Char- lotte, N.C. Minnesota Board-certified ophthalmologist Bridget Sun- dell, MD, and Fairview Range in Hibbing broke ground on the Northwoods Surgery Center in Virginia, Minn., in September 2013, and the rib- bon was officially cut on the new facility earlier this year. Summit Orthopaedics in Woodbury, Minn., opened a 68,000-square-foot orthopedic surgery center with 23-hour stay capability. Alaska The Surgery Center of Kenai (Alaska) opened, but at the time of opening could not yet perform pro- cedures on Medicare and Medicaid patients. California Sansum Clinic, based in Santa Barbara, Ca- lif., completed construction of its Foothill Medi- cal and Surgical Center, which houses an ambula- tory surgery center. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs opened a 19,100-square-foot, $10 million outpatient sur- gery center on its Mather, Calif., campus. Tennessee The Spine & Pain Physicians Surgery Cen- ter opened in Smyrna, Tenn. Campbell Clinic, based in Memphis, Tenn., ac- quired Midtown Surgery Center in October 2013 and opened an 18,000-square-foot facility this year. Michigan Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Mich., opened a $15 million surgical center. St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor (Mich.) Hospi- tal opened its new, 43,000-square-foot outpatient surgery center. Metro Health opened its new ambulatory surgery center at the Metro Health Park East Location in Grand Rapids, Mich. Maryland A group of physicians in partnership with Surg- Center Development opened Monocacy Surgery Center in Frederick, Md. American Spine opened a new spine treatment facility and surgery center in Germantown, Md. Colorado Arete Surgical Center opened in Johnstown, Colo. Hawaii Orthopedic Associates plans opened a 9,200-square- foot surgery center in a medical office building in Honolulu. Virginia The Monticello Community Surgery Cen- ter opened in Charlottesville, Va. New Jersey Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, N.J., recently opened a new ambulatory surgery center.
