Becker's Hospital Review Annual Meeting – May 7-9, 2015 – Chicago 120 Arlington Heights, Ill.-based Alexian Brothers Health System and May- wood, Ill.-based Loyola University Health System signed a letter of intent to affiliate to expand their pediatric service lines. Four New Hampshire community hospitals — Androscoggin Valley Hospi- tal in Berlin, Littleton (N.H.) Regional Healthcare, Upper Connecticut Val- ley Hospital in Colebrook and Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster — signed a non-binding letter of intent to create a common parent organization. Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care and Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, Wis., entered into a partnership that gives Aurora a minority stake in BAMC. Dover, Del.-based Bayhealth and Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md., announced they are entering into a non-financial partner- ship to form HealthPartners Delmarva, a new organization through which the hospitals will share best practices and focus on collaborating to improve patient care. Cabell Huntington (W.Va.) Hospital and Huntington-based Pallottine Health Services entered into discussions concerning Cabell's potential ac- quisition of St. Mary's Medical Center. Carondelet Health in Kansas City, Mo., a part of St. Louis-based Ascension, signed a letter of intent to allow Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Ser- vices to acquire St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City and St. Mary's Medical Center in Blue Springs, Mo. Carondelet Health Network, based in Tucson, Ariz., and its parent company, Ascension, signed a nonbinding letter of intent with San Francisco-based Dignity Health and a subsidiary of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp. to create a joint venture, which will connect Carondelet to a regional healthcare system of hospitals owned and operated by Dignity and Tenet in the Phoenix area, as well as Tenet and Dignity's accountable care organization, Arizona Care Network. The Cleveland Clinic Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute selected North Shore-LIJ Health System in Great Neck, N.Y., as its exclusive alliance member for providing heart patients in the New York metropolitan area with greater access to clinical trials and advances in cardiac care. Brentwood, Tenn.-based Duke LifePoint Healthcare acquired Sylva, N.C.- based WestCare Health System. Kootenai Health, based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, joined the Mayo Clinic Care Network. Lincolnwood, Ill.-based Legacy Healthcare acquired Park Ridge, Ill.-based St. Matthew Center for Health, part of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, for $10.5 million and renamed the facility Avantara Park Ridge. Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth and Eastern Maine Health- care Systems in Brewer signed a letter of intent to begin discussions about forming a closer relationship. Long Beach, Calif.-based Molina Healthcare, through its subsidiary Molina Healthcare of Florida, entered into an agreement with First Coast Advan- tage — a Provider Service Network affiliated with the University of Florida Jacksonville Healthcare and UF Health Jacksonville — to acquire certain assets from First Coast and assume the company's Medicaid contract. Exclusive affiliation negotiations between Vancouver, Wash.-based Peace- Health and two small community hospitals in northwest Washington state — Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon and Cascade Valley Hospital and Clinics in Arlington — fell through. Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services completed its acquisition of St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic, N.J. Rochester (N.Y.) Regional Health System finalized definitive agreements under which Clifton Springs (N.Y.) Hospital & Clinic and United Memorial Medical Center in Batvia, N.Y., will join the health system.
