Nebraska Medical Center, a founding member of the Na- tional Comprehensive Cancer Network, has na- tionally recognized programs in surgical oncol- ogy, chemotherapy, radiation and clinical trials. It has been ranked as one of the top 50 hospitals for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report, and its cancer program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (New York City). One of the nation's largest hospitals with 2,478 beds, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital features two cancer centers: the National Cancer Institute- designated Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center of NewYork Presbyterian/Columbia Uni- versity Medical Center; and the Sandra and Edward Meyer Cancer Center at Weill Cornell Medical Col- lege/Ronald P. Stanton Clinic Cancer Program at NewYork Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Cen- ter. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital treats more than 7,000 newly diagnosed cancer patients annually. Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Chicago). In partnership with the Robert H. Lurie Compre- hensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University — a National Cancer Center Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center — Northwestern Me- morial Hospital is dedicated to enhancing cancer care by developing clinical practice guidelines that are updated each year. The Lurie Cancer Center is also a founding member of the National Compre- hensive Cancer Network. Northwestern Memo- rial, a Magnet-designated hospital, is consistently ranked as one of the best hospitals for cancer care in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. NYU Langone Medical Center (New York City). National Cancer Institute-designated NYU Langone Medical Center's Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center is known for its use of state-of-the-art cancer therapies and clinical trials. Formerly the NYU Cancer Institute, the Perlmutter Cancer Center is a translational cancer center that takes a team approach to cancer with expertise from other clinical areas and specialties. The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Cen- ter (Columbus). The Ohio State University Com- prehensive Cancer Center-Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and the affiliated Richard J. Solove Re- search Institute is one of the nation's premier can- cer centers for the prevention, detection and treat- ment of cancer. "The James," a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, is the Midwest's first freestanding cancer hospital. The center is also only one of seven in the country funded by the NCI to conduct phase I and phase II clinical trials for new anti-cancer drugs. Oregon Health and Science University (Port- land). The Oregon Health and Science University Knight Cancer Institute is an international leader in cancer research known for its personalized med- icine for cancer treatment. The OHSU Knight Can- cer Institute is a National Cancer Institute-desig- nated cancer center and houses one of the region's largest bone marrow transplant programs. U.S. News & World Report has ranked the hospital as one of the top 50 in the nation for cancer care. Peninsula Regional Medical Center (Salisbury, Md.). The Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute of Peninsula Regional Medical Center was listed in CareChex's top 50 for cancer care. With an emphasis on advanced medicine, comprehensive services and compassionate care, the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute offers symptom man- agement and includes an award winning breast center, genetic counseling and cancer risk assess- ments. The Institute also houses the Peninsula Institute for Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery. Riverside Methodist Hospital (Columbus, Ohio). The Arthur G. H. Bing, MD, Cancer Cen- ter is a five-story center on the Riverside Meth- odist Hospital Campus. Riverside Methodist is part of Columbus-based OhioHealth. The out- patient cancer center is home to 160 physicians in 20 specialties involved in providing quality cancer care to its patients. Riverside Methodist was ranked as No. 27 in the nation for cancer care by CareChex this year. Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (New Brunswick, N.J.). Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is the flagship cancer hospital of Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center in New Jersey. The Steeplechase Cancer Cen- ter at RWJ Somerset is accredited as a comprehen- sive community cancer center by the American Col- lege of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and U.S. News & World Report ranked RWJUH as one of the top 50 hospitals for cancer care for 2014-15. Roswell Park Cancer Institute (Buffalo, N.Y.). The Roswell Park Cancer Institute, consid- ered a revolutionary model of a multidisciplinary approach to cancer, was founded in 1898. Roswell is a National Cancer Institute-designated com- prehensive care center and has set itself apart as a leader in surgical robotics, vitamin D research, immunotherapy and vaccine therapy, studies tar- geting tumor microenvironment and cancer pre- vention and the development and testing of new agents and technology. Rush University Medical Center (Chicago). The Rush University Cancer Center comprises all of Rush University's cancer-related clinical, research and educational efforts. The center also includes Rush's outpatient cancer center, placing the ma- jority of Rush University Cancer Center's services and care providers in a single location. U.S. News & World Report ranked Rush as one of the top 50 hos- pitals in the country for cancer care for 2014-15. Scott & White Memorial Hospital (Temple, Tex- as). Scott & White Memorial Hospital's Scott & White Cancer Institute is an academic, comprehen- sive cancer program dedicated to guiding cancer patients through diagnosis, treatment and recovery. The Scott & White Cancer Institute is known for its multidisciplinary Integrated Care Teams including specialized services for site-specific cancers. Scripps Health (San Diego). Scripps Health is home to one of only two American College of Surgeons-designated Integrated Network Cancer Programs in California. Scripps Health also in- cludes the Scripps Proton Therapy Center, which is one of only 15 operating proton treatment cen- ters in the nation that offers radiation therapy for cancerous tumors. University Hospitals Case Medical Center (Cleveland). The Seidman Cancer Center at UH Case Medical Center dates back to 1987, when the National Cancer Institute named it the first clinical cancer center in northern Ohio, later des- ignating it as a comprehensive cancer center in 1998. U.S. News & World Report ranked Univer- sity Hospitals as one of the top 20 hospitals in the country for cancer care in 2014-15. Shands Hospital at the University of Florida (Gainesville). The UF Health Shands Cancer Hospi- tal is affiliated with the University of Florida Health Science Center, which allows patients to benefit from the latest medical knowledge and technology. Shands Cancer Hospital is home to a full spectrum of radiological capabilities, a bone marrow trans- plant outpatient clinic and more than 250 research- ers and clinicians who specialize in cancer care. Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, under the LifeBridge Health umbrella, is affiliated with the Alvin and Lois Lapidus Can- cer Institute. The Institute is accredited by the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer. In 2013, the Institute launched a compre- hensive bone and soft tissue tumor center at Sinai Hospital to provide advanced treatment options for rare types of tumors. Sinai Hospital is Mag- net-designated for nursing excellence. St. Cloud Hospital (Saint Cloud, Minn.). As part of CentraCare Health, St. Cloud Hospital is affili- ated with the Coborn Cancer Center, the first pro- gram in the country to become a member of the Mayo Clinic Cancer Care Network. Coborn Can- cer Center is accredited as a comprehensive com- munity cancer program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and it is a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence. CareChex has ranked St. Cloud Hospital as one of the top 100 in the country for cancer care. St. John Medical Center (Tulsa, Okla.). The can- cer center at St. John Medical Center has received accreditation from the American College of Sur- geons Commission on Cancer and is accredited by the ACoS as a comprehensive community can- cer program. The hospital, Magnet-designated for nursing excellence, was also ranked by CareChex as one of the top 100 in the country for cancer care. In July, St. John Medical Center became the first and only hospital in Oklahoma to join the MD Anderson Cancer Network. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Memphis, Tenn.). St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is the first and only National Cancer Institute- designated comprehensive cancer center devoted solely to children, having received designation in 1977. U.S. News & World Report ranked St. Jude Children's as one of the top 10 hospitals in the country for pediatric cancer care in 2014-15. The hospital includes more than 160 clinicians and scientists and offers more than 150 clinical trials.
