Fox Chase Cancer Center (Philadelphia). Found- ed in 1904, Fox Chase Cancer Center was one of the first cancer hospitals in the country and later became one of the first hospitals to receive des- ignation as a National Cancer Institute compre- hensive cancer center in 1974. In July 2012, this 100-bed hospital expanded access to cancer care and research through an affiliation with Temple University Health System and Temple University School of Medicine, both in Philadelphia. U.S. News & World Report ranked Fox Chase Cancer Center as one of the top 20 hospitals for cancer care across the country in its 2014-15 rankings. Geisinger Medical Center (Danville, Pa.). The Geisinger Cancer Institute at Geisinger Medical Center is home to 14 specific cancer programs and more than 100 clinical research trials focused on cancer prevention, detection and treatment. Geisinger Medical Center was named one of America's Top Quality Hospitals for cancer care in 2014 by CareChex. It is also a participant in the National Cancer Institute's Community Cancer Centers Program, which helps the hospital offer advanced care and treatment options to patients close to home. Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Cen- ter. The John Theurer Cancer Center at Hacken- sack University Medical Center is comprised of 14 specialized divisions for cancer care and offers pa- tients access to more than 200 clinical trials. U.S. News & World Report ranked HackensackUMC as one of the top 50 hospitals for cancer care across the country in its 2014-15 rankings. Hahnemann University Hospital (Philadel- phia). Cancer care at Hahnemann University Hospital is provided in affiliation with Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. The Cancer Center at Hahnemann University Hospital is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and is certified as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program. Henry Ford Hospital (Detroit). The Josephine Ford Center Institute at Henry Ford Hospital treats more than 14,000 patients each year. Henry Ford Hospital was named one of America's Top Quality Hospitals for cancer care in 2014 by Care- Chex. The hospital is also accredited by the Amer- ican College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian (New- port Beach, Calif.). The Hoag Family Cancer Institute treats more than 3,300 newly diagnosed patients each year. Hoag Memorial Hospital Pres- byterian was named one of America's Top Quality Hospitals for cancer care in 2014 by CareChex. In January, Hoag announced the formation of an al- liance with USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center to enhance both centers' capabilities for patient care. Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia). The Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania was established in 1973, the same year it received comprehensive cancer center designation from the National Can- cer Institute. U.S. News & World Report ranked the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as one of the top 50 hospitals for cancer care across the country in its 2014-15 rankings. The cancer cen- ter was also named one of America's Top Quality Hospitals for cancer care in 2014 by CareChex. Houston Methodist Hospital. Houston Method- ist Hospital is affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College, which hosts many its cancer center's clini- cal trials. The hospital is Magnet-designated by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. U.S. News & World Report ranked Houston Methodist Hospital's as one of the top 50 hospitals for cancer care across the country in its 2014-15 rankings. IU Health Academic Health Center (Indianapo- lis). IU Health Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Cen- ter is the only patient care cancer center in Indiana to receive the National Cancer Institute designation. IU Health was named one of America's Top Quality Hospitals for cancer care in 2014 by CareChex, and the hospital is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center (Balti- more, Md.). The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center is named after the former chair- man of Jones Apparel Group and prominent phi- lanthropist Sidney Kimmel. Every year, around 7,000 new cancer patients visit the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. U.S. News & World Re- portranked Johns Hopkins Hospital as one of the top five hospitals in the country for cancer care in 2014-15. Johns Hopkins Hospital was also named one of America's Top Quality Hospitals for cancer care in 2014 by CareChex. Johnson City (Tenn.) Medical Center. Johnson City Medical Center's Regional Cancer Center offers cancer care in affiliation with physicians at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. Johnson City Medical Center was named one of America's Top Quality Hospitals for cancer care in 2014 by CareChex and is accredited by the Ameri- can College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Loyola University Medical Center (Maywood, Ill.). Loyola University Medical Center's cancer services are offered through the Cardinal Bernar- din Cancer Center, named in honor of the late Archbishop of Chicago Joseph Cardinal Bernar- din. It was the first freestanding facility in the state dedicated to cancer research, diagnosis, treatment and prevention. Loyola University Medical Cen- ter was ranked nationally for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15. Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston). The Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center offers more than 400 clinical trials each year. The hospital was the first in Massachusetts to receive Magnet status from the American Nurses Creden- tialing Center. U.S. News & World Report ranked Massachusetts General Hospital as one of the top 10 hospitals for cancer care across the country in its 2014-15 rankings. Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minn.). The Mayo Clinic Cancer Center is spread throughout the country, with sites in Scottsdale, Ariz., Jackson- ville, Fla., and Rochester. U.S. News & World Re- port ranked Mayo Clinic as one of the top five hospitals for cancer care across the country in its 2014-15 rankings. The hospital was also named one of America's Top Quality Hospitals for cancer care in 2014 by CareChex. Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center (Houston). Memorial Hermann includes seven cancer center sites at each of its hospitals in south- east Texas. The medical center was named one of America's Top Quality Hospitals for cancer care in 2014 by CareChex and is accredited by the Ameri- can College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (New York City). Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is the oldest and largest private cancer center in the world. Founded in 1884, Memorial Sloan-Kettering is a National Cancer Institute- designated comprehensive cancer center and world leader in patient care, research and edu- cational programs. With 469 inpatient beds and a surgical center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering is home to more than a dozen multidisciplinary cancer care teams. Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital (Marshfield, Wis.). Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, part of Stevens Point, Wis.-based Ministry Health Care, is listed as one of Healthgrade's top overall hos- pitals and one of CareChex's top 50 hospitals for cancer care. It is also a Blue Distinction Center for Complex and Rare Cancers. Ministry Saint Joseph's is the only major rural referral medical center in Wisconsin. Mission Hospital (Asheville, N.C.). Mission Hospital, part of Asheville-based Mission Health, is the system's flagship hospital licensed for 795 beds. The hospital started treating cancer more than 25 years ago, when it added the region's first board-certified radiation oncologist. Most of the hospital's cancer services are housed in the SECU Cancer Center, a Gold LEED-certified building that opened in 2012. CareChex ranked the hospi- tal as one of the top 100 in the nation for cancer care in 2014. Moffitt Cancer Center (Tampa, Fla.). Moffitt Cancer Center is a 162-bed cancer center com- mitted to the prevention of and cure for cancer. Known for its patient care, research and educa- tion, Moffitt Cancer Center is Florida's only Na- tional Cancer Institute-designated comprehen- sive cancer center. U.S. News & World Report has ranked Moffitt among the nation's top 50 hospi- tals for cancer care each year since 1999. Mount Sinai Hospital (New York City). Mount Sinai Hospital, ranked nationally for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15, offers the most advanced treatments for patients with all types of cancer. The Tisch Cancer Institute was established at Mount Sinai Health System in 2007, and its Dubin Breast Center, which opened in 2011, offers cutting-edge breast health services.
