Glens Falls (N.Y.) Hospital signed a memorandum
of understanding to become a member of Queens-
bury, N.Y.-based Adirondack Health Institute.
Good Samaritan Health System in Lebanon, Pa.,
signed a memorandum of understanding to affili-
ate with WellSpan Health, based in York, Pa.
The board of trustees for Hancock Medical Cen-
ter in Bay St. Louis, Miss., agreed to a two-year
management agreement with Ochsner Health
System in New Orleans.
Highlands-Cashiers Hospital in Highlands, N.C.,
completed the process of becoming a member of
Asheville, N.C.-based Mission Health, the state's
sixth-largest health system.
The United Kingdom's Competition Commis-
sion issued an order for Hospital Corporation of
America to sell two of its hospitals in London due
to a lack of competition.
Houston Methodist acquired majority ownership
of Christus St. Catherine Hospital in Katy, Texas,
and Christus St. John Hospital in Nassau Bay, Tex-
as, from Irving, Texas-based Christus Health.
Lancaster (Pa.) General Health and University of
Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia cre-
ated a "strategic alliance" to improve healthcare at
both health systems.
Montefiore Health System in Bronx, N.Y., and
White Plains (N.Y.) Hospital signed a letter of in-
tent to affiliate.
Novant Health in Winston-Salem, N.C., struck
an agreement with Morehead Memorial Hospi-
tal in Eden, N.C., to work together within Novant
Health Shared Services.
Oconee Medical Center, a hospital with 169 li-
censed beds in Seneca, S.C., signed a memoran-
dum of understanding to explore an affiliation
with Greenville (S.C.) Health System.
Boston-based Partners HealthCare and Melrose,
Mass.-based Hallmark Health System signed a
definitive affiliation agreement.
Prime Healthcare Services, based in Ontario, Calif.,
agreed to acquire Garden City (Mich.) Hospital.
A bankruptcy judge approved the sale of Saint
Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to West-
chester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y.
UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in San Fran-
cisco and Children's Hospital & Research Center
Oakland (Calif.) completed their affiliation.
Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Health Care and
Johnston Health in Smithfield, N.C., signed a de-
finitive joint venture deal.
Unity Health System, based in Rochester, N.Y.,
and Rochester (N.Y.) General Health System
jointly filed a certificate of need application to cre-
ate a new health system.
WellStar Health System, based in Marietta, Ga.,
joined the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
