The Texas Heart Institute celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012. The center includes an heart art gallery, a heart device museum and a heart library to complement its comprehensive heart care and heart surgery programs. The Texas Heart Institute earned a place on the U.S. News & World Report's list of the top 50 hospitals for heart care and heart surgery in 2013-14. Trident Health – Trident Medical Center (Charleston, S.C.). The Heart Center at Trident Medical Center combines cardiac surgery with cardiac rehabilitation for excellent outcomes. It offers cardiac intensive care complete with state-of-the-art monitoring systems to ensure the best outcomes for patients at any level of illness. The center has earned recognition from Blue Cross Blue Shield and the American College of Cardiology Foundation for its heart care quality. UC San Diego Medical Center. The Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center at UC San Diego Health System is the only academic heart center in San Diego. The center is heavily involved in clinical trials for at least 17 conditions. The Center for Advanced Heart Care at the University of Kansas Hospital is a widely celebrated program attached to a research institute. University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers (Ann Arbor). University of Michigan's Frankel Cardiovascular Center offers educational programs and fitness classes for cardiac rehabilitation, women's health, nutrition and eating habits, exercise and mindfulness. The center recently was named on U.S. News & World Report's list of top 50 hospitals for heart care and heart surgery 2013-14. University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian. UPMC's division of cardiology is far-reaching, with 20 locations throughout Pennsylvania. It 49 also has several specialized programs for women, cardiovascular genetics and advanced heart failure. Often recognized, the division was named one of U.S. News & World Report's top 30 hospitals for heart care in 2013-14. University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics (Madison). The Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of Wisconsin includes more than 130 researchers, physicians and educators. The center has earned recognition from Blue Cross Blue Shield and the American College of Cardiology Foundation for its heart care quality. Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Nashville, Tenn.). Vanderbilt Heart, Vanderbilt University Medical Center's cardiology branch, is an innovator in cardiac care. It is the first U.S. medical center conducting trials for glial growth factor 2, a drug to regrow heart muscle. The center was named to U.S. News & World Report's list of top 50 hospitals for cardiology in 2013-14. Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (Winston-Salem, N.C.). The Heart Center at Wake Forest Baptist Health provides cardiac care through a regimen of personalized medicine. Wellmont's Level One Heart Attack Network, the only one of its kind in the region, exists to improve times for heart attack treatment across the region. The center offers full-service cardiac care and was recently selected as the top hospital in the country for interventional carotid care by CareChex. The center has earned recognition for its heart care quality from Blue Cross Blue Shield and the American College of Cardiology Foundation. West Jefferson Medical Center (Marrero, La.). The Cardiology, Vascular Surgery and Chest Pain Center at West Jefferson Medical Center is the first hospital in the region to offer round-the-clock emergency room heart care. The center recently was awarded a designation as a Blue Distinction Center for cardiac care from Blue Cross Blue Shield, as well as recognition from the American College of Cardiology Foundation for excellent heart attack care. Winchester (Va.) Medical Center. Winchester Medical Center's cardiology department includes accredited echocardiography, a vascular laboratory and nuclear cardiology services. The center was recently recognized as a Blue Distinction Center for cardiac care from Blue Cross Blue Shield. Additionally, the hospital received the Silver Performance Achievement Award for high standards in heart attack care from the American College of Cardiology Foundation. Yale-New Haven (Conn.) Hospital. The Heart and Vascular Center at YaleNew Haven treats the most heart and vascular patients of any hospital in Connecticut.
