12 PRACTICE MANAGEMENT Orthopedic and Spine Centers of Wisconsin to open ASC in 2024 By Carly Behm M adison-based Orthopedic and Spine Centers of Wisconsin plans to open a surgery center by November 2024, e Wisconsin State Journal reported Oct. 30. e ASC will likely open in an existing building aer renovations, the practice's leader, Jason Sansone, MD, told the publication. Since the practice opened in February, surgeons with the practice have been operating across five regional hospitals. Dr. Sansone also told e Wisconsin State Journal that the group might open other ASCs as joint ventures with hospitals in the future. Plans for a specialty orthpedics hospital are being considered "down the road" and will depend on capacity needs, according to Dr. Sansone. n OrthoIndy adds chief development officer By Carly Behm Indianapolis-based OrthoIndy named Brandon Smith as chief development officer. e role is new to the practice, according to an Oct. 25 news release shared with Becker's. Mr. Smith has 13 years of experience at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville, Ind. At OrthoIndy, Mr. Smith will lead growth initiatives for OrthoIndy, including expanding access to physical therapy and imaging, aling with community engagement. "He brings a proven track record of creating opportuniies for healthcare networks to better serve their communities," John Ryan, OrthoIndy CEO, said in the release. "He will be an invaluable asset in our mission to further expand and enhance the orthopedic services we provide." n MarinHealth launches spine institute By Carly Behm G reenbrae, Calif.-based Marin Health opened the MarinHealth Spine Institute, according to a Sept. 13 news release. The Institute includes spine surgeons Brian Su, MD, and Kevin Hwang, MD; anesthesiologist Ramana Naidu, MD; and physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists Ernest Sponzilli, MD, and Lyndly Tamura, MD. They will treat degenerative spine conditions and provide nonoperative options. "We have brought together spine experts from different specialties to form one team driven by proven and personalized treatment plans for each patient, guiding them from diagnosis through recovery," Dr. Su said in the release. n Twin Cities Orthopedics opens 70K-square-foot campus By Claire Wallace Bloomington, Minn.-based Twin Cities Orthopedics has opened a 70,000-square-foot campus in Plymouth, Minn. TCO opened the facility to both expand its footprint in the state and offer more types of services for patients, according to an Oct. 25 press release. The facility will offer spine, total joint, sports medicine, foot and ankle, and hand and wrist care. The campus will also house an orthopedic urgent care facility. n
