The system uses active and passive tracking technology to help surgeons plan and execute cases, according to a news release. It features a proprietary camera, dual PC system and precision targeting. It was used at six early product surveillance sites earlier in 2023. n Genesys Spine launches new SI joint fusion system By Rosie Talaga Genesys Spine launched the SIros O transfixing sacroiliac joint fusion system, the devicemaker said June 26. The device is the third SI joint system offered by the company, according to a news release. Jessen Mukalel, MD, was the first surgeon to use the SIros O implant. "The SIros O system celebrates the key principles of the SIros implant family by featuring not only the patented rifled inner diameter but also the 3D printed nanostructure that facilitates osteoconduction," Genesys Spine Chief Strategy Officer for SI fusion, Meredith Gavlick, said in the release. SIros O is designed for sacroiliac joint fusion to treat conditions such as degenerative sacroiliitis and sacroiliac joint disruption. n Augmedics raises $82.5M in financing, reaches 4,000th case By Carly Behm Augmedics closed $82.5 million in series D financing to support the growth of Xvision, the medtech company said June 27. e funding round comes as the company marked its 4,000th U.S. patient treated with the augmented reality spine system, according to a news release. e money will grow Xvision's reach in the U.S. and support future platform advancements. Funding was led by Dallas-based CPMG and adds Evidity Health Capital as a syndicate partner. Kent McGaughy, of CPMG, and Paul Enever of Evidity, will join Augmedics' board of directors. n
