18 PRACTICE MANAGEMENT MedVanta adds 3 leaders By Carly Behm Orthopedic management services organization MedVanta added three leaders to its team. e MSO named Tony Ti as its first chief information officer, according to a June 6 news release. He has more than 20 years of healthcare technology experience. At MedVanta, he'll help the MSO enchance its technology processes. Christine DeAngelis, who has nearly 30 years of experience in healthcare systems, was named sernior vice president of managed care and payor strategy. She previously worked at LifeBridge Health, and at MedVanta, she will be responsible for payor relations. Rachel Mazzotta is MedVanta's vice president of program development. She will lead operations, support the MSO's practices and help with acquisition transitions, technology assessments and staffing management. She previously was executive director at George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates in Washington, D.C. n Orthopedic Care Partners affiliates with American Spine & Orthopaedic Institute By Carly Behm Orthopedic Care Partners has affiliated with the American Spine & Orthopaedic Institute in Orlando, Fla. e practice was founded by James Manzanares, MD, Orthopedic Care Partners said in a June 13 news release. e American Spine & Orthopaedic Institute focuses on complex adult and pediatric spine pathology. Dr. Mansanares and his team specialize in minimally invasive spinal surgery, advanced spine reconstruction and sports- related injury. "Our affiliation with OCP will enhance our mission of providing world- class spinal and orthopaedic care to our patients in central Florida," Dr. Mansanares said in the release. "We look forward to leveraging the resources and network of OCP to further optimize patient outcomes, maintain our focus on minimally invasive techniques, and continue to place patients at the heart of all we do." n Dr. Daniel Kim joins Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center By Carly Behm Spine surgeon Daniel Kim, MD, joined Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Ala. Dr. Kim was the first spine surgeon in Birmingham to offer endoscopic spine surgery, the practice said in an Aug. 1 news release shared with Becker's. In 2022, he was recognized on the North American Spine Society's SpineLine "20 Under 40" list. "I want my patients who drive an hour or more from rural Alabama to receive the same exact quality of care in my office and operating room as they would if they were in Chicago, New York or Los Angeles," Dr. Kim said in the release. Dr. Kim earned his medical degree at the University of Kentucky in Lexington and completed his residency at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. n PELTO Health Partners adds to board of directors By Claire Wallace P ELTO Health Partners, a network of independent physicians and providers from Durham, N.C.-based EmergeOrtho, Indianapolis-based OrthoIndy and Seattle-based Proliance Surgeons, has added Wayne Weil, MD, to its board of directors, according to a July 5 LinkedIn post. Dr. Weil is an orthopedic surgeon at Proliance specializing in elbow, wrist and hand surgery. He has been a board member at Proliance since 2021 and has worked in the group for almost 18 years. "So proud to be partnering with forward thinking physicians in order to help transform the delivery of healthcare to our patients in a more patient centric way in order to provide better outcomes at lower cost and empower physicians to regain control of their practices," Dr. Weil said in the post. n
