14 CEO / STRATEGY Northwestern Memorial HealthCare taps CEO By Alexis Kayser Chicago-based Northwestern Memorial HealthCare has named Howard Chrisman, MD, its next CEO. Dr. Chrisman, a radiologist, joined the health system in 1997, according to a news release shared with Becker's. He has held various leadership roles, including executive vice president of clinical operations, president of Northwestern Medical Group and — most recently — president and chief operating officer. Dr. Chrisman assumed his new role Jan. 1. n Advocate Health names leadership team in wake of merger By Kelly Gooch A dvocate Health, a newly combined system resulting from the merger of Atrium Health and Advocate Aurora Health, has named its executive leadership team. Jim Skogsbergh, who will serve alongside Mr. Woods as CEO until his retirement in 18 months, said in the release that the executive leadership team "will chart the course for our journey to reimagine health and well-being, advance health equity and improve the lives of individuals, communities and teammates." Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium and Advocate Aurora, dually headquartered in Milwaukee and Downers Grove, Ill., closed on their formal combination Dec. 2, resulting in a $27 billion, 67-hospital system. e Charlotte-based combined system has 150,000 teammates and footprints in Illinois, Wisconsin, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama.
