23 PRACTICE MANAGEMENT Orthopedic Center of Florida partners with HOPCo By Carly Behm F ort Myers-based Orthopedic Center of Florida is partnering with Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company and plans to open a new location in Naples, Fla. e partnership aims to bring several new physicians to the practice, and a Naples location is expected to open in January 2023, HOPCo said in a Nov. 2 news release. Orthopedic Center of Florida has 22 physicians who cover a range of spine and orthopedic services. "For over 35 years, our group has provided high-quality care to the Fort Myers community," John Mehalik, MD, of Orthopedic Center of Florida said in the release. "Our expansion to the Naples region is an opportunity to provide this same level of care to more patients. We knew we needed an experienced strategic partner to facilitate that growth. HOPCo's resources, infrastructure, and experience in the musculoskeletal space made them the natural choice for us." n 2 Florida orthopedic providers merge to form 17-physician practice By Carly Behm F ort Walton Beach, Fla.-based Orthopaedic Associates and Panama City, Fla.-based Southern Orthopedic Specialists merged in November. The merged practice has five locations, according to a news release shared Oct. 21 with Becker's. Orthopaedic Associates has 12 physicians, and Southern Orthopedic Specialists has five physicians. The merged practice operates under Orthopaedic Associates' name. Orthopaedic Associates was founded in 1988. n OrthoIndy adds 7 surgeons through partnership, plans expansions By Carly Behm S even orthopedic surgeons with Lafayette Orthopaedic Clinic will work with Indianapolis-based OrthoIndy under a partnership. The new additions will join in April 2023, bringing the total number of OrthoIndy surgeons to 89, the practice said in a Dec. 12 news release shared with Becker's. They will continue to serve at their current practice location under the Lafayette Orthopaedic Clinic name, and plans for an urgent care center and ASC are slated for 2024. OrthoIndy also plans to grow further in 2023, following the opening of a clinic in Westfield, Ind.
