39 ORTHOPEDICS Rothman Orthopaedics inks 10-year partnership with CarePoint Health By Alan Condon P hiladelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedic Institute and Care- Point Health have cemented a 10-year partnership that will cre- ate an orthopedic Center of Excellence at Hoboken (N.J.) Uni- versity Medical Center and Christ Hospital in Jersey City, expanding their partnership that began in March 2021. Rothman has 14 practice operations in New Jersey, including a new Hudson County facility. Physicians from this location will staff key programs that include an arthroplasty center. CarePoint and Rothman Orthopaedics are also in talks to develop a spine center and a multispecialty outpatient facility that caters to pa- tients in Hudson County, Achintya Moulick, MD, president and CEO of CarePoint, said in an Aug. 1 news release shared with Becker's. By having a greater presence in Hudson County and partnership with CarePoint, Rothman Orthopaedics will be able to recruit the "best of the best, fellowship-trained surgeons" from Yale University in New Haven, Conn., and other prestigious programs in the area, Rothman CEO Christopher Olivia said. Alex Vaccaro, MD, PhD, president of Rothman Orthopaedics, said in the release his practice has a great ability to "recruit top talent," and its "North Jersey expansion attracted an abundance of top-trained or- thopedic applicants." The platform, 360CareNav, features digital health tools including telehealth, remote physiological monitoring and care coordination across providers, the company said Aug. 8. It is intended to reduce the cost of care, and its cost algorithms are powered by machine learning and artificial intelligence that gets smarter over time. n $16M orthopedic center, ASC planned for Colorado By Marcus Robertson BoulderCentre for Orthopedics and Spine is building a 37,000-square-foot facility with an ASC in Broomfield, Colo., the Boulder Daily Camera reported Aug. 15. The two-story facility, which will be adjacent to Children's Hospital North Campus, is projected to cost the 15-physician practice $16 million. The first floor will house the ASC, convalescent care center and future MRI area, according to the report. The second floor will feature the orthopedic clinic and physical therapy program. The facility is expected to open in spring 2023. n WellSpan expands minimally invasive spine surgery program to ASC, community hospital By Claire Wallace WellSpan is expanding its minimally invasive spine surgery program to two new locations, WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital in Lancaster (Penn.) and Parkway Surgery Center in Hagerstown (Md.). Five physicians across WellSpan hospitals, the new surgery center and the community hospital are trained in minimally invasive procedures, according to an Aug. 17 press release. The minimally invasive procedure allows for faster recovery and better patient outcomes. n
