49 JOINT VENTURES UF Health renovating joint venture Jax Spine & Pain Center with ASC By Marcus Robertson G ainesville, Fla.-based UF Health East is renovating a facility in collaboration with Jacksonville-based Jax Spine & Pain Centers, The Florida Times-Union reported Aug. 31. The three-story, 52,146-square-foot Jacksonville facility will house an ASC on its first floor, the report said.New renovations include an MRI unit and other upgrades totaling about $1.4 million. The center's second floor will hold UF Health, with Jax Spine & Pain suites on the third., the report said. n Northwest Extremity Specialists, Unity MSK partner with northwest Oregon podiatry practice By Carly Behm W ilsonville (Ore.) Foot Health Center partnered with Unity MSK and is part of the Northwest Extremity Specialists group in Portland, Ore. The partnership comes months after the management ser- vices organization and NES added Portland-based Tigard Orthopedics and Fracture Clinic, Unity MSK said in an Aug. 24 news release. Wilsonville Foot Health Center is led by Ste- phen Fekete, DPM, and he has practiced podiatry in Portland for 34 years. The practice will remain at its Wilsonville location and change its name to Northwest Extremity Specialists. n Health system opens joint-venture ASC in Minneapolis By Marcus Robertson M inneapolis-based Allina Health opened a joint- venture ASC in Minneapolis, REBusiness Online reported June 14. The two-story facility, dubbed 610 Medical, is a 40,000-square- foot surgery center, the report said. Allina Health leases about 18,000 square feet, or most of the second floor. The multispecialty center offers procedures in ENT, orthopedics, urology and general surgery. n Capitol Pain Institute, private equity firm partner to create physician-led pain management platform By Riz Hatton A n affiliate of Capitol Pain Institute, an interventional pain management provider, and Iron Path Capital, a private equity firm, partnered to create a physician- led consolidation platform. Capitol Pain Institute plans to build a national platform by affiliating with independent pain management practices and building new clinics. The goal of the platform is to sup- port corporate functions at affiliated practices, according to a June 23 news release. Capitol Pain Institute has ASCs and clinics throughout Tex- as, Ohio and Kentucky. In addition to interventional pain management, the provider offers spinal cord and periph- eral nerve stimulation, interspinous stabilization and fixa- tion and posterior SI joint fusion. This transaction is Iron Path Capital's third platform invest- ment since its founding in 2021. n
