82 GASTROENTEROLOGY Gastrointestinal virtual health clinic receives $10.5M investment By Claire Wallace S alvo Health, a virtual clinic specializing in comprehensive gastroenterology care and chronic gut conditions, closed a $10.5 million investment from reshold Ventures, Torch Capital and Felicis. Salvo Health is the first digital clinic offering gastro care, according to an Aug. 9 news release. Salvo's members have unlimited access to a messaging platform with doctors, health coaches, care navigators and gastrointestinal experts. "e conventional medical system oen underserves chronic GI conditions, so we assembled top minds to provide comprehensive and accessible care through an easy-to-use, app-based approach," Jeff Glueck, founder and CEO of Salvo Health, said in the release. Salvo plans to use the investment to improve its technology, build awareness and expand into additional states. Currently, it is available in California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Tennessee, Connecticut, Kentucky and Virginia. n AI-driven healthcare company partners with endoscopy video firm for GI health By Claire Wallace V irgo, an endoscopy video technology company, signed an exclusive partnership agreement with artificial intelligence gastroenterology solutions company Satisfai Health. The companies plan to use joint technologies and developments to improve the gastroenterology field, according to an Aug. 8 news release. "We believe that bringing Satisfai's marquis solution set to our end-users is the best way for Virgo to continue adding clinical value to gastroenterologists, both in a standard of care and research capacity," Ian Strug, co-founder and chief customer officer at Virgo, said in the release. "We could not be more excited to realize this vision and bring real-time, in-line AI solutions to gastroenterologists worldwide." n Borland Groover to open Florida endoscopy center with ASC By Patsy Newitt B orland Groover, a Jacksonville, Fla.-based gastroenterology provider, is constructing a new endoscopy center in Orange Park, Fla. Orange Park Endoscopy Center will be 29,000 square feet. The center will include an ASC with five procedure rooms and 29 medical office exam rooms, according to an Aug. 18 news release emailed to Becker's. Borland Groover performs procedures such as colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound and biliary endoscopy. Orange Park Endoscopy Center is slated to open in early 2023. n Capital Digestive Care expands Virginia footprint by 2 locations By Riz Hatton Silver Spring, Md.-based Capital Digestive Care has added Gastroenterology, Ltd. of Virginia Beach (Va.) to its network. e deal is Capital Digestive Care's second partnership in Virginia, according to an Aug. 3 news release shared with Becker's. e transaction adds nine board certified physicians, six advanced care providers, two office locations and an endoscopy center to Capital Digestive Care's footprint. Capital Digestive Care is the largest private gastroenterology practice in the Mid-Atlantic region, according to the release. It consists of more than 160 physicians and advanced care practitioners. n
