The ranking is based on in- formation from Redi-Data on the amount of professionally active dentists by specialty field in the U.S. as of Janu- ary. Population data is from the U.S. Census Bureau. In total, there are 146,312 active dentists in the U.S., down from 150,325 in September 2021.
