Meanwhile, the least expensive cities to have the procedures include Memphis, Tenn., and San Antonio. e price for total knee replacement includes facility, physician and anesthesia fees and is calculated based on the amount health plans have paid on medical claims. Memphis, Tenn.: $23,647 n Population growth drove need for orthopedic ASC, Colorado hospital CEO says By Marcus Robertson M ontrose, Colo., is a growing city, and its existing orthopedic surgery facilities can't keep up with the increased demand the community is projected to see, NBC affiliate KNCO reported Feb. 28. "We're running out of space," Montrose Regional Health CEO Jeff Mengenhausen told KNCO. Montrose Regional is responding with plans for a four-story, 80,000-square-foot ambulatory care center with an orthopedic ASC. "It's going to have an imaging center specifically based around women's imaging, primary care, specialty care, and then a surgery center on the fourth floor really based around orthopedics," Mr. Mengenhausen said. Montrose City Manager Bill Bell told KNCO that the city staff approved building permit fee waivers for the new ambulatory care campus. Groundbreak- ing is expected in July, with an opening date in late 2023. n AdventHealth spine, neurosurgery partnership to boost research opportunities By Alan Condon A ltamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth and Orlando Neurosurgery are working on a new affiliation agree- ment ahead of the opening of the health system's $100 million Innovation Tower this year, according to the Orlando Business Journal. Orlando Neurosurgery, which has 15 physicians and more than 75 staff, will remain an independent practice and lease a space in the 12-story orthopedics and neuroscience tower, which will also house Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedic Institute. The 12-story, 300,000-square-foot facility, which will feature AdventHealth's neuroscience institute and brain health pro- gram, will focus on outpatient care and research for conditions including spinal disease, stroke, brain tumors and Parkinson's Disease. Orlando Neurosurgery is moving its flagship office from Winter Park, Fla., to the new facility and plans to add more outpatient locations and neurosurgery services at AdventHealth hospitals, according to the report. The tower is expected to open in late 2022. n
